I was ' one of them', that is, the ogres who liked him (i never got an erection from the thought of him, though). Didn't realize how immature he was, the reports made it sound like the opposite- coach's son, composed on the big stage, seemed mature for his age, eager for the challenge. Turned out to be wrong. I wonder if getting back under Dad's watch will help him to focus because he has talent. Gobert was the fallback for me but I also wanted Noel at 1 so was hoping for a wing with that 2nd 1st.

Just thought I'd bring this back up. Look how he snaps off that pass and rushes over to set a hard-ass screen!

Bennett is one of those guys who has a ton of athletic ability but only really cares about basketball because he has the body for it.

Imagine if he had Lebrons work ethic and while he may never have been a star he'd definitely be able to play in the NBA

But that roll to the hoop afterwards! Catches the defense off guard every time.

Reminds me so much of myself when I wanted to watch Friends on a Thursday night but had a game back when I was playing for the 97-98 Armco Heating & Cooling Hornets... No fucks to give !

I wonder if a guy like Van Gundy would have just cut him and took the cap hit just to set the right tone for the organization.

His ability was so oversold. He was a tweener in much the same way Derrick Williams is a tweener, only with less foot speed. Too slow to play the 3, too small to play the 4, too lazy to be good at anything.

I'm wrong about a great many things, particularly college prospects, but man I called this one from the jump.

THe final part was Bennett's problem: too lazy to be good.

No brain for the game, and seemingly no interest to learn. Game came too easy for him in Canada and at UNLV and when shit got real, he went into a shell.

I'll admit to having him as my darkhorse that year, blew up in everyone's face. Chris Grant needed to have autodraft on after 2011 draft. ALways had to be the smartest kid in the room, though.

I'm so pissed the Celtics have the Nets picks for two more years. This is a GD joke. They have Harris and Bennett now

I seriously think they need to restructure the Stepien rule to include trading the rights to swap picks in the year in between trading first round picks because this Nets and Celts trade is horse shit and honestly probably should have been vetoed at the time. What a complete farce of a trade

I have not seen him play yet this year. The numbers look like he might be playing like a decent bench guy, drawing fouls, hitting shots, not acting like a human turnover machine. Has anyone seen him play?

Nope. I looked at his numbers the other day though.. really small sample size that benefit from one pretty decent game, she a couple other OK ones.

He almost exclusively shoots threes, like .700 rate iirc

Just got waived by Brooklyn today.

I think this is the end for the NBA for him. I hope I'm wrong.

Why do you hope you are wrong? The guy really never has seemed to try to get into shape and we wasted a first round pick on him. He made good money. He will make more good money in Europe. We could have drafted Antenokoupo or however you spell his name/
