Rodney Hood: Won't be missed

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Griffin was a idiot, nothing but LBJ's bitch, he traded away 5 or 6 first round picks and 4 or 5 seconds to keep LBJ happy. One of the draft picks (Atlanta) we still owe. The guy was a complete failure which is why he doesn't have a job with an NBA team today. Koby has done very well with the pile of garbage he was left with.

I am ok with Altman. I think he rolled dice on the IT, Crowder, Wade lineup and it failed. it was as good a shot as you could take given Kyrie’s demands.

But IT had no game, Crowder brooded, and Wade was Wade. So Altman figured out Lebron was gone and traded for a set of guys that might be part of a long term, but also gave the team a fun zone..

Lebron is gone. He made that decision, similar to the Miami decision. He owes us nothing and we owe him nothing more..if you came to RFC because Lebron, then you have a decision to make. Stay with Lebron and become a Lakers fan, which by the way is not unreasonable. Lebron is the GOAT.. OR remain a cavs fan.. which is what I was before lebron and expect to be post lebron..

In that light, Altman is my guy, Dan G is my guy, and kLove is my guy.. Rodney has had a lot of opportunity here to show he is worth a big contract, right there with Nance. But Nance has given his best, and Rodney has not. To quote Gomer Pyle, Surprise Surprise Surprise.. Rodney gets the QO..its what he earned..

I really think this discussion would be different if the Nets didn't overachieve last season.

When Altman made the Kyrie trade, I was ecstatic to have Crowder, Zizic, and what was expected to be a top 5 pick. IT performing at an average level would've been gravy. Since then Crowder and IT shit the bed and the Nets played better than expected. Zizic is still an unknown, but I doubt he will make this trade look any better. At the time, it seemed like a great deal for a team without any leverage. Fuck the Celtics.

You also have to factor in Sexton, because if he turns out to be a stud then that trade looks a lot better IMO.

Nance cost us the 1st. Clarkson was had for Thomas’ expiring.
Well I am fine with nance
I tend to believe this, but haven't said much about it. They had some cool sets and ways these guys were effective and LeBron totally went away from it. What happened with pick and roll with Nance? Clarkson on the wing for the 3 or penetration from the baseline?

It was in Lebrons best interest to look like he had no help
and in lebrons interest to play all 82 games. Lebron thinks he is really clever but his actions have usually been see through

Altman has done ok this offseason considering everything. He gets an A in my book for not offering Fraudney a big contract. Hood is one of the softest players in the league IMO and I don't see much upside at his age either.
Last time I checked it was Altman who traded for him in the 1st place. Not doubling down on his mistake doesn’t make him a good GM. Good GM’s don’t trade for stiffs

Gilbert hired Ferry Griffin and Altman . Some reason lil man fears hiring an alpha experienced GM. What gives ?

Actually, mitigating previous mistakes is one of the most important abilities of a good businessman. Mistakes will inevitably be made whether they are yours or others or just bad luck, so fixing them is as important as making the decisions in the first place.
