Awesome show.

What is everyone's ideal view of America's Melting Pot?

Oil and Vinegar or Stew?

Bring a piece of your culture to the American culture. Assimilate. The more different people are, the more friction.

I really always had like a vision of there just being 1 culture in the end. American Culture. The contents of the stew changes w/ the ingredients, but in the end, it's "us". Which is why things like Cultural Appropriation and things of that nature baffle me. I don't even see it as a possible issue, and I was wondering if it's because of that Oil and Vinegar vs. Stew type outlook.

http://www.breitbart.com/sports/201...fter-second-violation-of-social-media-policy/

ESPN suspended Jemele Hill for two weeks for violating their social media policy.

They should of. She represents ESPN and was warned and she ignored the warning.

I work for a major mortgage lender and have to adhere to a social media policy. I also have a dress code, and code of ethics i have to adhere to at my job.

This is what I hate most about these protests, there is a huge difference between having freedom of speech and freedom of speech with no consequences.

Anyone watching American Horror Story?

Doesn't at all. Dont feed the monkey.

Ah, I was assuming positive intent. Thought there was some link or relateable topic that was interesting.

Of course she should have been (at a bare minimum) suspended. Suggesting that the public boycott sponsors is so far beyond the pale it isn't funny.

But the sad/bizarre part are all the accusations that her suspension is racist and oppressive. This reflexive labelling as "racist" anything that adversely impact someone black is destructive. How can race relations improve if a significant number of people habitually see racism where it doesn't exist? Such people will never stop being angry, and making demands.

And if those people who see racism everywhere are challenged, it will become "quit denying my experience". It's just impossible.

Goodell has completely screwed the pooch on this entire issue. The prior policy actually was all that was needed. But Goodell apparently decided not to enforce it, and as a result, this whole thing exploded in his face. So now, he makes a change to the policy (which still won't mean anything unless it is enforced), making the change itself an issue.

By trying to please everyone, he's pleased no-one.

I'm not surprised. Those kind of job and/or scholarship descriptions seem to be getting more common. Anti-white discrimination is all the rage these days. It's whatever to me though. If a place doesn't want to hire me because I'm white then that's their loss.
