Leadership Specialist Tyrod Taylor

I'm not even gonna make fun of that Zay Jones situation. If his brother wasn't there we'd be talking about a much worse and different outcome. I hope he gets right.

My thoughts exactly. Not a funny situation in the least. There's something wrong there & I hope it's just a bad trip.

I know we’ve discussed how safe he is with the ball but this is wild:

Kizer: 28 turnovers in 2017
Taylor: 21 turnovers the past three seasons.

Tell me that doesn’t account for 2-3 wins alone.

It doesnt.

Turnovers is the number 1 stat for wins, i feel that accounts for 5-6 wins alone.

All successful quarterbacks are partly successful due to having competent coaching.

You saw the throws Carson Wentz was making. The dude is a stud.

I don't understand why we are trying to down-play how good the guy is--perhaps because we passed on him. He's fantastic.

He may end up just like RGIII. He also might be the next superstar QB. We won’t know either way for a few years. All we really know for sure was he looked good for a short time and then got injured. I think he was anointed prematurely and I think the Super Bowl is evidence in favor of that argument.

That was great! Thanks for sharing! I subscribed to his channel.

I like Tyrod. He is a good QB. But I have never been impressed with his footwork in the pocket. It always seemed like people conflated Tyrod's ability as a runner and as a passer with having good footwork. In my eyes, beyond arm strength, that's his biggest issue. He drifts... a lot.

He is still notably better than anything we have had in many years, but unfortunately, that is not saying a whole lot of anything.

I really enjoyed this breakdown, thanks for getting it out there. One thing I noticed about Tyrod in previous years is that he could be lured into what I'd call "backyard football." He would abandon a progression then attack the perimeter with one or two passing options, most likely running the ball if the defensive backs stay with their man. In this film breakdown, I see less of that tendency with Taylor staying in the pocket as long as he can. That's encouraging because Haley is going to want the full progression on plays designed to have a full progression.

Today showed you exactly why you give up a 3rd for Tyrod.

Dude was an efficient killer out there. Abused a decent Giants defense and put the ball in our playermaker's hands.

Also allows Baker time to refine some things and learn the NFL so he isnt thrust right into playing time.

That throw to Njoku was a dime right in stride

Just wait until Gordon comes back to be paired with Njoku and Jarvis.

He has never had that good of weapons ever in Buffalo. Throw in Duke and Calloway too, and I think he can push 4,000 yards this year (my prediction is 3,800)

And it's so hard to not want that again next season. Say Tyrod does lead us to a 9-7 season with a shot at the wild card... Baker will have even greater expectations the following season

Browns went up tempo with Tyrod to great effect, but with Baker they kept huddling for the most part. We know Haley will give his QB the freedom to go no huddle up tempo from his time in Pitt, but he probably doesn't trust Baker to do so at this point/ doesn't want to throw too much at him. Yet another benefit to bringing Baker along slowly.
