Welcome Todd Haley - Browns OC

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
A modified WCO

Yep. Ball control is critical at the pro level because the defense needs rest. At the college level, a roster can go as high as 125, usually 85 scholarship players who will play on game day. They have no problem rotating in defenders and pushing the pace on offense. At the pro level, it's a 53 man roster. This is why Chip Kelly looked awesome his first month in Philly and then looked incompetent by October.

I'd hire Garnier Fructis Ben McAdoo. Greasy Ben with a liter of hair tonic simply doesn't deserve a job. At this point, it's all about his choices in hair product.

Oh don't you worry, Keys. The Browns will make sure they're off the field fast enough so the defense can't get any rest.

McAdoo runs a west coast offense with a lot of verbage and long play calls. In all seriousness, how effective is that system in today and tomorrow’s game?

He literally just coordinated a top 10 offense in 2015.

Unless you think the game has already evolved that much in two seasons?

It's funny that I've seen some people(maybe more on other places than here?) cast 40 year old Ben McAdoo as a good old boys network retread. The guy is barely older than DeFillipo and and Ryan, and prior to the disaster season this year(aided by major injuries to OBJ/Shepherd and others) had a great ascending resume.

To me the fact that both Mularkey and McAdoo(and perhaps others) are still interviewing for our OC job shows that Dorsey/Haslam didn't just suggest Hue consider a real OC(vs none or Zampese/Saunders) but actually demanded it/made it a condition of Hue keeping his job.

I dont like the fact that McAdoo cannot coordinate a running game.

I only want McAdoo if he shows up for the interview with no hair product, wearing his dad's hand-me-down suit again:

Might have had more to do with the Giants having a bad offensive line and shitty RBs.

Maybe, but he comes from Green Bay, and they have run the same system for years.

It may be more philosophy than necessity that they run that system.

Fair point. Green Bay has had quality run games some years, though. This year, for example, when Rodgers got hurt and they started pounding the ball, their run game looked really good. I just think that, when you've got Aaron Rodgers, you are going to throw the ball a lot more.

And Eddie Lacy was really damn effective there for two years before he got fat and useless.

How about McAdoo as Offensive Coordinator, Mularky as Run Coordinator, and Robiskie as Pass Coordinator?

But someone still has to call those plays. Kirby was our run game coordinator for 2 years and hue ignored him.
