Browns rant thread.

Here's another thing to consider with Coleman. Remember how Hue publicly told everyone that he was going to throw the ball to Gordon when he came back and then the team proceeded to force the ball to Josh and alienated the rest of the receiving corps?

Hue has never made it a point to get Coleman the ball in any creative ways. We barely play him in the slot. He's only been in the backfield twice all season. It's like we never tried to take advantage of the mismatches he creates. But as soon as Gordon came back it was like thee was a whole section of the playbook that only a receiver who's been out of football for 3 years could grasp.

I mean, Coleman's fine I suppose. Maybe with a competent QB he'll turn into something. There's no reason to get rid of him. There are much bigger problems here. I would still bring in a free agent and draft someone in the middle rounds. It's not like you can count on Coleman staying healthy or Gordon staying sober. But I'm not going to run him out of town.

Yeah, I think good teams should always be investing second/third round picks in new WRs. Jacksonville has been doing it for years now and they have developed a really quality WR group.

In my mind Coleman is a good #2 receiver if used right. Meaning he needs a #1 receiver to take the top CB. Against a #2 or 3 CB Coleman could be able to do well, if used properly.

Haden gets the last laugh, no surprise there. Oh well.

Go watch him WORK Jalen Ramsey, arguably the best CB in the NFL. That's not a sign of a #2 WR.

Coleman might be a good # 2 receiver. He might have WORKED the best CB in the league in ONE game. Lets see him stay on the field, put up 850 yards and 5 TDs as a #2 before we brag about one game against a really good CB. One great game against a great player, does not make YOU great.

Coleman doesn’t need a #1 to take the top off anything.

He’s consistently been open when he’s on the field and there is ample evidence above to show that.

He needs a QB to get him the ball.

Give him a QB who can hit him on more than 40% of his routes and he'll probably be able to do that. Literally the only two things holding him back have been his injuries and the QBs who have been unable to consistently get him the ball when he's wide open.

Was in Vegas for the last game. Went to the local Browns backers club for the helluva it. Nobody was there, so I left.

Exactly! No WR is going to look even average with only 44% of his targets being catchable. Just awful.

I like Coleman a lot too, but he could help himself and catch the ball when it does come on target. Two huge drops this year to help 0-16 become reality.

Gordon, Coleman, & Njoku are an exciting young trio. Hopefully we sign one more WR in FA and draft a rookie RB to pair with Duke. Then, whoever is at QB will have no excuse to suck besides that they just do.

I was kinda expecting it.

Not in a "woe is me" sort of way. Rather just because they're a good team, and he can kinda coast on that for a while.

Just annoying more than anything. Perhaps stranger things can happen and he'll be welcomed back here. But...He's not a Brown to me any more.

I hope he's not expecting some sort of warm welcome when he goes to Cavs games.
