Second-round pick Brodney Pool and fifth-round pick David McMillan signed contracts with the Browns Monday, leaving just two members of the team's 2005 draft class unsigned.
Pool signed a five-year contract, and McMillan signed a four-year contract. Top pick Braylon Edwards and third-round pick Charlie Frye remain unsigned.
The team's signed rookies reported for training camp orientation and meetings Sunday afternoon. Activities for rookies and selected veterans continue through the week; the first full-squad, open to the public practice of training camp is Friday afternoon.
Pool, who gave up his final year of eligibility at Oklahoma to enter the 2005 NFL Draft, will be in the mix for playing time at safety in his rookie season. He'll be given a chance to contribute on special teams and in nickel and dime packages right away.
Pool turned 21 earlier this summer.
McMillan, a defensive end in his college career at Kansas, is making the transition to outside linebacker in the Browns' 3-4 base defense. He'll be given a shot to contribute as a pass rusher in his rookie season. Browns sign Pool, McMillan
