Browns sign RB Carlos Hyde

I thought he looked pretty good this year. Goff just completely failed to connect with him on long throws with any consistency, which is more on Goff than Watkins. He was clearly much more comfortable dumping it off to Gurley and throwing short routes to Kupp. He just doesn't have that touch on deep throws.

Goff has Brandin Cooks and, unlike Watkins, a whole off-season to get some chemistry going with each other. Don't forget, the Watkins trade went down right before the season started. I just didn't see the explosiveness from Watkins last season. The opportunities were there when injury hit the Rams, but their offense was humming without Watkins getting many touches. I personally wouldn't look past all those factors in Watkins off year and put it all on Goff, but this is the internet. You can claim the Holocaust didn't happen these days. Truth is dead. I'm only half kidding... Anyways, all these trends won't matter as much once the season begins. Tyrod might end up connecting with Gordon and there's nothing to worry about. I'm hoping for it.
