Every trade deadline for now on when Carmelo is on the Knicks, were going to hear rumors.

Will this end up like the Amare safari?

I MARK THIS SAFARI... DEAD.

Off topic - but that picture reminds me I'm looking forward to this upcoming season of Survivor. Haven't watched the past few seasons, but a lot of old favorites and memorable players are gonna be playing this season, including multiple previous winners.

I'm 100% sure this isn't the last time we'll hear of Anthony trade talks.

Just ball this thread up and toss it, but toss it where we can find it again to unravel it....

I'm glad that for once the Knicks did the smart thing. If there weren't any decent offers for Anthony, it made no sense to move him when he's still under contract for several more years. We can always revisit trading him in the offseason. And then his list of teams he's willing to play for might expand. Plus a team may woefully underperform in the playoffs and decide that Anthony is the solution.

Phil absolutely crushing Melo today.

I don't see how he's a Knick next season.

They are going to have to give him away because of this mess. He can choose his team and everyone knows they want him gone. No way do they get any value in return.

But what team out there wants him? He's a big hit on the salary cap, which eliminates probably every team he'd want to play for.

It's not enough that Phil wants him out and Carmelo (presumably) wants to go. One of 29 teams has to add him to their cap. Assume that the Knicks only want a 2049 second round draft pick in return -- Which teams, specifically, would make that deal? For which teams would it make sense to make that deal?

It's entirely possible the answer is -- NONE!

Carmelo might be the new Brock Osweiler. Trade him and a 1st round pick for a 2nd round pick and maybe there would be takers. He could be the new Baron Davis -- trade him along with an unprotected #1 which has only a few balls in the lottery ("What's Not To Like" about that -- 2011 Draft will never be old).

I won't be surprised if Phil is stuck with Carmelo going into next season.

There's really only 2 players I don't really wanna see finish their careers with rings....

Joe Johnson and Carmelo..... Both have chased the last dime they could pocket -- so when they start chirping about wanting to win I really don't wanna hear it...

Shumpert+JR together are due to make $24 million next year, Carmelo will be at $26 million. Like BUCKED said, we could make a trade work if the Knicks are willing to go back to the future. Our bad contracts for theirs.
