Carmelo Anthony

Do Not Sell My Personal Information

Would you like Melo on this team if you didn't have to trade Love?

  • Yes

  • No

  • Depends on who we have to trade (really?)

Houston moves Anderson (obvious) and Clint Capela which hurts their defense but is a necessity. Rockets LOVE Nene by the way and recognize his value at 20-25 mins a night. But their goal is to have 4 stretch players with Harden and CP3 that can attack paint. Melo isn't a pure shooter but at least stresses defenses with ability to put ball on floor. Houston sounds like they're ready to roll out a roster with a (arguably) plus defender in Paul, average defender in Harden, Plus defender in Arizona, average defender in Melo, and solid defender in Nene. Houston was shocked at the way the current game passed Ryan Anderson by. They want him gone.

But there are teams (can't name them) under the smarter tax ready to take on bad, long term deals, for draft picks and guys on 1 year deals that expire next year.

Unfortunately for CLE, in this deal, Iman could serve as a salary match, but our young assets blow. Houston can compensate the Knucks much easier.... we are kinda fucked on the Melo deal unless we are willing to offer Love.....which ain't happening.
Ok I can see it getting done if Capella is moved

But that's a really really fucking stupid move by the Rockets that makes them less likely to beat the warriors. So if the Rockets insist on being stupid I'm not gonna lose sleep over it

If we don't make drastic moves, we're pretty much depending on a Warriors injury.

As things are now, with all the talk of Melo to the Rockets; I think we're witnessing the beginning of the end for this Cavs era (things can change, but, it's not looking good)...

If James stays and we don't improve and he starts to decline, we might become the Buffalo Bills. If he leaves, and we do a minor-rebuild around Kyrie and Love, we're basically as good as the Raptors? We'd be looking at a 3rd seed, and guaranteed sweep if we made it to the Finals?

What do we have that can beat Capella on a rookie deal? I don't even think if we put in Love that he would be preferred to Capella. I used to think that. Then I watched victor fucking Oladipo get chosen over A package with Love

What you're saying is true but I'm not trading Love for Melo and truth be told I still don't even know if that'd be enough if th rockets include Capella

Nothing.

We'd have to do a 3-team Kevin Love trade to beat that... and at this point, I'm starting to become open to that possibility.

If Love could net us Melo/Bledsoe and another valuable high-level role player (particularly a wing), I'd do it.

Shit's inexplicable bro... Oladipo... Every time I see PG-related shit I just keep it moving.. Feel like I'm going to vomit. That should've been our trade.

I'm not trading Love for Melo straight-up, yeah; there's no way. That makes no sense for us.

But, it seems like the Cavs just aren't in this, and Melo is totally okay with going to the Rockets. I guess CP3 has talked him into it.

So.... my guess is we're fucked and it's just a matter of time? I dunno... Hoping for some good news, but.. it's not looking like a good offseason for the Cavs.

Given our cap situation I dont see too much room for improvements. The theories are good - but looking at how good the warriors are I feel like there is not much we can do. Love for Butler/PG was our best boat and i feel that has sailed away. I think our best hope is for Lue and the players to have a long hard look in the mirror and do what they need to do.

That's the sad reality for every team in the NBA right now.

Durant's unprecedented act of cowardice was the end of the era for every other team in the league.

If James stays and we don't improve and he starts to decline, we might become the Buffalo Bills.
What's with this? The Bills are ringless, the Cavs aren't.

Wouldn't even make the playoffs.

The comforting part of movements and so called power moves in the west is that it just won't help them against GS. And that is at the same time the the sad part of this, because players all over the league will regret not willing to force things a little to join Cavs. But that is not going to help any of us.
This will be Cavs vs GS for at least two seasons more.

You're full of shit if you think they wouldn't make the playoffs.

The Knicks need to trade this dude already so everyone can move on. Don't care if it's to the Kings.

Yeah, I'm full of shit for saying that a team that goes 4-19 without LeBron isn't playoff bound :coffee:

They are set up to play with Lebron.

If we didnt have Lebron they would run a different offense and defend differently.

We have enough skill to make the playoffs in the East if we didnt have lebron. We are not good enough to win a playoff series though.

Exactly, but I think we could get to the 2nd round possibly conference finals.

I dont, but this is semantics.

We would need a better secondary playmaker if we lost Lebron, we have the frame works, but if all we did was remove Lebron and start Jeff Green in his place, that is a first round loss team.

Kyrie and Love would figure it out enough to be a playoff team.

Also have to remember that if LeBron leaves, we'd have a lot of cash to spend elsewhere.

Maybe use some of that on an Avery Bradley type guy and I think you're right in the middle of the East (4-5 seed) assuming the mass talent exodus to the West continues.
