Cavs acquire Sam Dekker (Official)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Wish he was a better shooter. If he could shoot high 30s from 3 I would be more intrigued.

That was what Houston wanted to develop Sam into. Who knows, it started to look like Ricky Rubio finally learned how to shoot last year at 26. It's never too late to fix your shot.

I meant to write that I would actually like him to hoist it a little more too. Doesn't seem like he will shoot the 3 unless there is no one near him. Not very quick release.

You are right though. Everyone is probably working with coach Korver. Rodney said he was in today's interview so he can shoot better in spot ups

Korver has to be moved for a pick or whatever but I hope it is at the deadline. Be nice to have him helping the youngsters for a few months

He does look pretty scrubby. If he keeps sucking why not move TT back to PF behind Love, and let Zizic get all the backup C minutes behind Nance.

Nance and Zizic work better together.

I'd prefer to let Nance get the backup PF minutes and work to expand his game. If the organization wants to truely win, Frye might have to go into the big man rotation for TT, making the rotation Love, Frye, Nance, and Zizic.

My guess is the coaches and front office know it now or never to figure out if Dekker can help this team. If someone came calling for one of the vets today and we needed filler, Dekker is the only expendable player on a small contract that is trade eligible.

He's actually pretty good defensively. He disrupts things on the perimeter, but man he just has no feel. Cedi is light years beyond him on that point.

I was shocked when they said he played for his father in high school. Dekkar has way to low of a BBIQ to be a coach's kid right?

I like how he hustles, but how a guy with his experience and a father who is a coach can be so lacking in basketball skills and instincts is very curious.

I can't believe Nwaba couldn't find the floor over this guy. Dekker is not an NBA player. I would seriously cut him and move on to almost any other young guy with potential still out there. I've literally already seen enough.

I was intrigued by Dekker when we got him but much like everyone here, the more I've seen of him, the more I see why he's struggled.

He doesn't do anything super well and also doesn't shot free throws. The lack of confidence also is something which doesn't help. He needs an assertiveness to his game and he lacks that. He is position-less and doesn't utilize the skills he does have to benefit that scenario.

Oh well. I think the Cavs want to kick the tires on him before using the Nance and Zizic lineup. I can't blame them. Also, Lue is an idiot. That is part of it all as well.
