Cavs draft workouts

Do Not Sell My Personal Information

That was honestly not that impressive but to be fair that type of setting never does it for me. I’d be shocked if he’s the pick unless the trade that’s been beaten to death happens with Atlanta (it’s so telegraphed that it won’t happen at least not for 8 and 10)

The Suns seem to have a fetish for wings or seem to think Booker can make a full time transition to point guard. Anyway that’s another team after Culver assuming the Lonzo for #6 talk doesn’t happen. Who knows what’s real or fake at this point. Just gotta hope Griffin isn’t a fan of Culver with the Lakers at #4.

You may not be impressed by these workouts but I know you didn't think that he had those tools like most who don't think he is a top 5 option.
He is in the mix like it or not being the youngest player in the draft having played for less years than anyone else that is a lottery level option and tons of upside in top of it given his progression.
I'd take Sekou at #3 though so our opinions are vastly different .

Is this the same Suns who drafted Josh Jackson two years ago and were so high on him that they refused to include him in any trade talks for Kyrie Irving?
The same Suns who traded for Mikal Bridges during last year‘s draft?
The same Suns who traded for Kelly Oubre at the trade deadline?
The same Suns who gave TJ Warren a relatively sizeable extension?
This is either BS or someone in the Suns front office seriously loves them some small forwards!

Sekou,Bol and Herro skyrocketing up draft boards as the workouts continue.

What exactly is impressive? The hunched over dribbling? The egregious carry every time he does that crossover thing? The flashy dunking?

I like the concept of drafting him with a later pick but you are drafting him for potential...

what he shows in this workout is his shooting form is repaired which is the only thing that had his stock down and his shot is very consistent ,which proves he puts the work in as well. So any scrutiny about other aspects are just short sighted bases for creating arguments that don't change the fact he has elite upside given the lethal threat in the open court with Sexton Speed which you would have to have been scouting him beyond this workout to acknowledge.

Culver was my guy before his measurements came out. I really thought he was much longer.

Though, it might not matter, it's just that it was a bummer to me and somewhat lowered is ceiling to me, at least on paper...realistically it might not even matter one bit.

I mean, what’s not to like about a 6’7 wing with a 6’9 wing span?

It’s not like he came in 6’4.

8'4 standing reach is bad.

6'9 wingspan is meh too.

194 pounds.
Absolutely none of those measurements are going to prevent him from being a good player, though.

If you thought he was going to be a good player watching film of him, and then saw his measurements and changed your mind, you have bigger issues.

See that's just it at 5th you are not getting a proven player that's full arsenal will necessarily transfer over that ALSO has elite upside, not in this draft.Instead you really only one option to get value and you don't have to take the proven role player HUNTER/CULVER and hope they prove to have more upside than you expect. You DO have to gamble on a player that projects to be not only just as good at the same age as Hunter or Culver are at their age and experience but even better than they are at the same age experience and you have them in your system from a younger age to mold into the player that fits your system and can excel in it based on the other things you can't teach.
Cavs cannot take a player based solely on what they were able to do in their respective systems in college when others with higher upside that have shown flashes based on physical tools and base skills are available.

Just saw DeAndre Hunter is coming in early next week for a workout. Wasn't Sexton one of the last workouts last season? Could be an indicator that Hunter is the target bringing him in so late.

Oh, so you have more than one draft board of your own?
I have seen enough and been around the game long enough to know what makes a players stock go up and there has been plenty of positive vibes around all 3 of these , buy yeah I don't have a big board since I am not drafting anyone just like you aren't.
