Chad Ford: Retroactively Editing his Draft Boards

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Given that Ford supposedly bases his rankings on projections from actual teams/executives, I really don't understand what he'd stand to gain by editing his mocks to begin with. They really just showcase how the draft is a crapshoot, and that even teams with dedicated scouting departments get things wrong more than they get them right.

That was my reaction when I heard this story. The value Ford brings is the insight into front office thinking. Now you do have to read his reporting between the lines, since sometimes he misinterprets what he is told, but he still is a good source of information.

I'm always careful to distinguish between what he is hearing from his sources and what he thinks about the players. His own personal opinions are pretty much valueless.

So bottom line is that this is about as relevant as Ebola now?

He was changing his RANKINGS. Not his MOCK.
His Mock Drafts are based on team needs and what he is hearing.
His rankings are based off pure talent and potential. He is obviously a horrible talent evaluator and doesn't want anyone to go back and look at how bad his track record is.

I normally don't weigh in on these journalistic things because "sports journalism" is generally a joke these days. But... in this case, Chad Ford deserves to lose his job. What he's done is blatantly dishonest and impugns the integrity of any publication (ESPN in this case) that puts forward his work.

This is akin to plagiarism in my eyes...
Can you say " Brian Williams?"

Can you say " Brian Williams?"

how dare you, Williams is a man of integrity....
