You want to see the same effort, that's nice. Why do they owe you any of this when you disagree with and discredit the stance anyway? People are funny. You disagree, yet expect them to "prove" their resolve just so you can point and say "not good enough".

It's as if everyone is turning to protester numbers to convince them that something is awry. When has that figure been the difference between right and wrong? The logic is absurd.

People are offended by alot of things, for instance, im offended by your avi, it indicates a robber, a murderer, you show it off in a horrible display because i have to see it everytime you post in here.

Now, I would like to see the Indianapolis Indians to get protested since the Cleveland Indians are a target every year. I don't discredit their stance on demanding a logo change, but the team name, sure. I'm all for their stance to come to an end which would see the Dolan's, Indians management to work with the local tribe's and continue to honor why we became the Indians in the 1st place.

By the way, is Robert Roche's organization too afraid to poke their heads out and protest due to his troubles? I was told he had no part of the protest this year.

Either way, it has to be all teams that change the name, not just one. You cannot just sit there and protest just the Cleveland Indians when there is plenty of other teams that have the same name between High Schools to Pros. The small minority who are protesting, aren't even willing to work with the community and some of them are doing it just for attention for themselves and not for their heritage. Find a way to let the Native American people vote on what they think since it's not only the Indians that will have to change names, but it's also the Braves that have to change cause they fall under the same type of name decision. Redskins and Chiefs will have to change, since they of course are Native American origins. I mean half our states in the US are Native American names and that can be offensive. Also if people are able to change the name, I may as well protest the Fighting Irish name since I am of Irish descent. There has to be a like drawn in these protests because if there is not, it will never stop since others of minority will start protesting too.

Assuming @Real Deal is serious and its obvious hes not, what specifically is the difference between what someone sees as offensive vs another? What magically makes some things validly offensive and others not?

@AZ_ are you against the Indians changing their name? That would be at the end of the day what the protestors are trying to achieve and I know they won't quit until then.

Maybe im naive and thats why i dont see racism in everything in the world. Or maybe people are projecting.

There is a deafening lack of principle being displayed. Id like to diplomatically show people their ends dont justify their means, and how royally fucked theyre going to be if they continue to encourage it should they end up on the wrong side of subjective opinion.

Seems like people are getting off on imposing their will on others and inciting mobs. Youre just bullies posing as moral superiors.

As he looks down upon the rest of the world from his throne of morality that lets him decide what is and isn't offensive. For instance you don't hear a peep from him about changing the name even though at least one native American is offended by it. Probably because he decided personally that the team name isn't racist but doesn't want to voice his hypocrisy.

The guy is a fucking bigot even though he tries his best to state otherwise. He consistently demeans and belittles anyone who disagrees with him. I took his statements in this thread as particularly egrigious, so I'm repeating the implied personal attacks to bring visibility to how much of a hypocritical asshole the guy is.

i know, im trying to be nice. Boobz is a smart guy and our personalities are likely similar. I just think people arent aware of what theyre pushing.

We both know youve described progressives. They project and would rather claim unfounded moral superiority over aesthetic bs rather than fix actual problems like the collapse of black communities etc.

Let's worry about the name of a team and not the actual problems in the communities. You just want easy moral points to feel good about yourself rather than doing any actual work and solving real problems.

Hammers gonna smack some people in thje face when the mobs they advocate for decide subjectively that THEYRE wrong. Wont have anyone to blame but themselves.

They shouldn't get rid of it because people are offended.




They should get rid of it because it's inherently racist. I'm not offended by it, it affects my life in zero ways.

With that said, it's racist and we should probably leave that type of shit in the past with Sambo, Native American genocide, etc.

But people just don't want to be PC these days, because their racism should be cherished and embraced as "tradition."

I have no dog in the race, so I will lean on those that do, and if Native Americans find it offensive and racist, then I agree and it needs to go.
