Chiefs dilemma

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Smart move by the Chiefs (Andy Reid) to get Smith. He'll fit their offense well and coaches generally always get fired because their QB play blows. I think he bought himself some time to get things moving forward down there.

But how is Alex Smith any different than Matt Cassel though? Except now Alex Smith doesn't have a good defense behind him.

If it matters....to your point, the Chiefs SB odds before trade 50:1. After trade? 50:1.

Chiefs sign Bowe to 5 year deal. Chiefs also re sign Colquitt and use the franchise tag on Brandon Albert. We makin moves!! I like it. Now we don't have to draft an offensive lineman with the first pick. Hmmm...

No, but perhaps you should... If I were the Chiefs and Geno Smith didn't catch my eye, I'd try to trade that pick... If not, I still consider taking the LT and solidifying that offensive line to supplement the upgrade in QB along with the stud RB and Bowe... What use is a DE? Perhaps you can take Millner, but I just don't see value up top unless Loutelei is healthy and worth it.

If I'm a Chiefs fan, I wonder what the heck is going on kinda... Not that much there that is absolutely necessary..

Well, I wouldn't mind taking an offensive lineman I guess, but Geno is out of the question at this point. You don't pay Alex Smith just to have his job in question by a rookie. But I really wish we would have took Geno so that is disappointing, but I just hope we take the best player available that can make the biggest impact, regardless of position. That is hard to judge in football, but I hope we don't blow it.

My guess is they still go with Joekel. They can make Albert a RT or start Joekel at RT to get his feet wet.

Dwayne Bowe off the market just gave Mike Wallace a pay raise.

I'm suprised we were able to keep Bowe, but that was a big signing for us in my opinion. We need him.

Chiefs just cut Eric Winston today, which opens up a slot to move either their #1 pick or Albert to OT (if they don't kick him back inside)..

At the end of the day, I still think they got OT with what they have... Franchise tagging Albert doesn't mean they'll lock him up long-term... Drafting an OT gives them the ability to let Albert walk if the demands get too much...

Andy Reid saw what happened when you have a porous OLine in Philly, so I really think they go that way with the #1 pick still..

They have two good pass rushers already, they just got their QB for the next few years and I'm not sure there's a corner worth the top spot... So with all that, I still think they go OT..

Joeckel seems to be the pick right now although Eric Fisher will be in the discussion too..

It looks like Albert refuses to move away from the left side, so will the choice between Joeckel and Fisher come down to who can play RT for the year?

Someone on ESPN keeps saying the Chiefs will take Star Lotulelei with the 1st pick, but most people don't even have him in there top 10, so I'm confused with that pick.

Yay, Matt Cassel officially cut!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:D

And we sign the best corner on the market Sean Smith! Chiefs are spendin cash and makin MOVES this off season. Playoffs here we come!

Star could have arguably been the top pick before that heart condition cropped up. If he checks out medically it could happen. That's the reason he's been dropping.

With Dorsey gone, I wonder if that will make a difference whether they will draft a DT or not.

People keep saying that the Chiefs may consider still taking Geno at #1 since we just signed a couple OT's. But that doesn't make any sense to me after trading for Alex Smith. I would still rather take Geno though and if it doesn't work out, at least trade him in or Alex in the future.
