Chris Bosh

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Warriors will sign him :fight (9):

I just.. I couldn't imagine him doing that.. It's obvious Wade can't stand the Warriors, so I'd imagine the feeling is similar with Bosh.

Personally if Miami gets salary relief and bosh goes to play somewhere else I think that's shady as shit.

It's interesting because, as I understood it, Bosh had every right to play somewhere else regardless of Miami not releasing him since he's asked to play. But Miami's doctors won't medically clear him, and Miami refuses to "take the risk." So there's some legal dispute as to how Bosh can continue to play while Miami is arguing they don't want him to play for the Heat, and thus, he should be forced to medically retire rather than them paying his salary.

It's .. odd.. to say the least.

I'm curious how close LeBron and Wade really are to Bosh, though. I think they consider themselves friends, but obviously nothing even remotely like Wade and 'Bron.

They didn't even show up to his wedding. You'd think even if they were friends, maybe not close friends, you'd go to your buddies wedding. But maybe there were reasons, but even still, it's odd both weren't there.

Also, Bosh' comments about Cleveland. I know that was 7 years ago; but still, Bosh has never made it a secret he prefers the nightlife. And he knew joining LB would make us the favorites to win a title then, but refused to come here, and it was Miami or nothing for him.

I'm not saying he wouldn't be interested, but I don't think it'd be a slam dunk like it would if Wade gets bought out.

I'm not sure there's much of relationship there with Bosh and LeBron other than acquaintances that worked together. Where they liked each other personally, but don't really have much of relationship other than that.

Wade probably prefers to stay close to family (Cleveland offers that) and his relationship with LB is like family pretty much.

But maybe the biggest motivation to coming here would be to sticking it to Riley. There's no secret that relationship isn't ending on a great note either.

One of us was going to say this... I was trying to resist.. I see you could not.. :chuckle: !!!

After the post-season, we'll fire up the Safari!! :)
I was actually watching Wade highlights the other day dreaming of it :chuckle:

I think if Wade was smart, he would opt-in and take that last big pay day. Well, I don't know the percentages of how much he makes if he opts-out, so possible he could even do it this year if he is still getting paid.

But I would bet my life that LeBron and Wade are going to play together again before Wade retires. If I had to guess, it would be either this year or next year. But at some point for sure. I saw an article where Wade talked about he is still deciding what he should do, but mentioned the luxury of going to play for a contender if he wanted. And the only serious contender he is joining is us imo. I'm pretty sure LBJ and Wade still talk about playing together a lot. I just don't want losing this year to be the excuse for it. I want to win, and then still get him :chuckle:

I want to add on to @godfather's post because I don't think Bosh would play here. He has openly stated how tough it was for him to adjust to being the third option next to LeBron. He's going to come here to be the fourth option, at best? He's going to come off the bench for the minimum here... why? He has two rings. I don't think that would be THE motivating factor for him. I'm sure he wants to win, but he may be a Joe Johnson type of guy that isn't going to value winning completely over money.

My guess is he would go for some combination of the two, and as Godfather stated, there doesn't appear to be much of a relationship there with LeBron. At least not like Wade and LeBron. And that's fine. Not everyone has to be friends with LeBron.

I love the idea, but I would really worry about Bosh collapsing on the court and dying.

It would be ugly and tragic and the team and the league would get sued for every penny.

You can't worry about stuff like that. But, I'm sure there might be legal stuff set up to prevent such litigation.

Is Pau retiring next year? I could see San Antonio as a destination for him. Maybe LAC.

He can't likely earn any more than he's going to get from Miami already; so salary really is not a concern. That's why whatever team signs him will likely sign him for no more than the vet minimum, since he's already getting paid for the next 2 years by Miami.

I think Bosh is private for different reasons.. He's just a very private person is my understanding. He's said Bron and Wade are like his brothers. It seemed clear to me that he's closer with Wade than James, but.. I wouldn't say that they're not close friends...

With that said though, if not Cleveland, then where?

San Antonio? I dunno if Bosh would really wanna do that... I remember hearing awhile back that he actually does NOT want to play closer to home (Texas, iirc), which is why he wanted to make it work in Miami with Wade post-LeBron.

I suppose the Clippers make a lot of sense.. But would they play Blake/Bosh/DJ?

Lakers makes no sense at all..

Does Bosh really try to play in the East against James? I can't imagine that.. I mean, Chicago, yes, but.. is that a stable situation? With Rondo in the air, Wade on the decline, and Butler on the trade block every year?

So, it's hard to imagine where Bosh could play that would make sense and allow him to contend?

In my opinion, Bosh's only motivation to play again is to prove he can play again, because people said his career was done. Or for the love of the game. Role, money, legacy and all that won't matter at all.

His role is probably going to be limited wherever he goes, so it makes sense he might as well go to a contender if he wants to make it really worth his time. But it's a success no matter what if he steps back on the floor again. However, I think there is a decent chance he doesn't even slightly risk coming back if he is enjoying time with his family.

These are all really good points. I just think they all come from the point of view that he's hell bent on winning a championship. I just don't know if that's his motivation. If it's not, he can go anywhere.

Maybe he just wants to play the game again just foe the joy of playing the game, and it's not just about winning?

Oh man.. I totally agree, I don't look at Bosh as someone hellbent on a championship.. I just think if he has to look at the options in front of him, with Cleveland and LeBron potentially waiting with open arms; I'm not sure if Bosh turns that down, or why he would?

The only team I can realistically see Bosh going to, that wouldn't be Cleveland, is Toronto.

But ya never know bro.. ;)

Toronto would be interesting if they want to keep trying in the next couple of years. Otherwise, I can see them saying, "come back when you're a year away from retirement."
