Cleveland Browns 2018 Season Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Tampa Bay had the worst defense in total yards and pass yards last season. This season they are bottom five in all categories to start the year. Nassib playing a high snap count on a bad defense has no bearing on what he would do for a good defense, especially with such a small sample size. The Browns are looking to replace the replaceable.

I understand that the Browns are looking to replace the replaceable and improve the d-line as a whole. My point was they didn't have a next man up mentality last week, they just upped everyone's snap count when Ogbah went down. It will be more concerning if they go into week two with the same mentality. D-line is just as much about keeping guys fresh as keeping the most talented players on the field. If we lose Garrett or Ogunjobi to injury from over playing them, the O-line will get drastically worse.

I'm definitely hoping these guys can come in and be better replacements than Nassib was. They weren't ready for week one for one reason or another, which was more of the reason why I brought up Nassib snap count than anything. It only took one injury to shorten our rotation which shouldn't be the case if the roster is built properly.

While what you're saying is accurate, it is a little more tenable if you take into consideration that all of Avery's snaps were at defensive end and not linebacker.

It shook out like this...

Garrett 84
Ogunjobi 79
Smith 57
Avery 43
Coley 42
Ogbah 27
Lawrence 2

So basically they played 6 defensive linemen in week 1, but I expect Carl Davis and Anthony Zettel to each play a lot more this week.

I took Avery's play into account and didn't count Lawrence since he got two snaps.

I can't exactly remember when Ogbah got hurt but I thought it was in the first half. For a game that went into overtime it seems somewhat concerning we used a 5 man rotation after Ogbah got hurt. We used a 8 man rotation last year. I really hope we use at least a 6 man rotation this week. If someone isn't able to step up into that 6th rotation player role that's where the real concern comes for me. We waived/cut/traded 4 players that were part of the 8 man rotation last year if the 7th man on the d-line depth chart isn't able to step up to actually play, someone majorly screw up in their evaluations.

So you are saying there is a chance the Sashi draft picks were slightly to highly over rated by many RCF members? The madness....

I think Ogunjobi playing 79 is even crazier than Garrett playing all 84. Guys that big shouldn't be playing that much, which goes to show the complete lack of depth at DT.

My only hope is that Gregg wasn’t comfortable sticking any of the new guys out there with so little practice time and that changes now that Davis, Lawrence, Zettel and Odenigbo have all been here for a couple of weeks.

Yeah no kidding, loves that signing originally. He’ll likely be suspended soon though by the nfl.
will be interesting to see how they handle this. From everything I read he was fully cooperative and wasn’t the leader of this operation

The way this country treats white collar crime is a joke. Especially if you aren’t the leader and are willing to cooperate to take the leader down

Could see it not even resulting in a suspension.

Lmao good job managing injuries hue. Maybe we should hire an injury coordinator too and just keep taking more jobs away from hue.

No worries boys, Hue will definitely be fired after Sam Darnold whoops our ass.

These forums will then be better to read. Minus the Lue section.

Time to cut bait with Devalve, he falls into the replaceable category. What's Gary Barnidge up to these days? :)
