Cleveland Browns Historic 0-16 Perfect Season Parade - January 8th - 12:00pm

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I wish they didn't call it a "parade" but instead called it a protest. Which, by the looks of it, is what this is. And good, people should be protesting. 0-16 isn't acceptable. 1-31 isn't acceptable. Hue Jackson is an ass. Jimmy Haslam is a piece of shit. I don't blame the fans at all for trying to do their part to force change. Next step is to stop supporting the team and have empty seats on Sundays.

If players, coaches, executives, etc don't like it? Then do something about it.

Saw some great signs on the livestream.

I legitimately would've went if I could. I can't stand this regime. This isn't a celebration; but you're not going to raise a ton of money labeling it as a protest.

The players speaking out against this parade look really dumb. You're telling fans who are upset and angry at 1-31 to chill. You're telling them how they need to handle their angriness. You're telling the fans that they shouldn't be mad because you tried really hard to win.

It's.........very out of touch. Makes me think that some of these players don't really understand the passion of Browns Fans.

For once we agree 100%.

It's funny because last year I had the exact opposite take. But this year must have broken me.

This seemed to go really well actually. It was clearly a protest and couldn't be misconstrued as celebrating losing like some jagoffs argued.

A lot of fans were able to release pent up frustrations today and Jimmy Haslam was humiliated in a very public manner.

Quite frankly I don't give a fuck what these players have to say. The argument that this is going to have ANY influence on whether players sign here or not is a laughably bad take. Small market, cold weather Cleveland Browns are only getting free agents if they pony up the most cash either way.

Pretty successful altogether judging by the response on social media nationally. Empathy and respect for Browns fans who have put up with the worst couple decades in the history of sports and are still fighting tooth and nail for their team.

There was a pretty simple solution to avoid confusion from those "jagoffs"..

Call it a damn protest from the beginning. Oh, and don't have floats like a parade has.

This dude has had 2 years to clear up any confusion and he kept with the name.

I've had people tell me they were hoping we'd lose out so we could have the parade.

Want to protest? Cool, they deserve it. But don't continue calling it a parade, don't have floats like a parade would, and get a different theme.

And let's not pretend like this is going to suddenly make a lightbulb go off in haslam's head. Literally the day after the parade was confirmed, he reiterated that Hue is staying.

And sorry, the players, most of whom have worked their asses off, played hurt, etc, have every right to be pissed. Do I think those who attended aren't real fans? Of course not. But I can 100% understand why a player would get pissed enough to say it, even if he is wrong to do so.

Calling it a parade was sarcasm just because it's literally the exact opposite result of a championship. It's a way to inject some humor into it. Call it a protest and it has a much different, negative connotation. And quite frankly we don't need any self induced negativity after the past 17 weeks of the team providing plenty. Calling it a parade made it a more light hearted joke.

I didn't say I didn't understand why the players are upset. It makes plenty of sense. I just said that I don't give a fuck that they're upset. And I don't. Sorry they're in the middle of this, but we've dealt with this mess a hell of a lot longer than them.

So you’re saying calling it a protest in advance would have made a difference vs calling it a protest after it began? :chuckle:

I think you’re among the group that would have disliked the parade/protest regardless of how they did it.

There’s really no reason for this to be controversial. A few thousand dopey guys went down to the stadium to protest an absolutely shitty fucking product, their crook of an owner and their scumbag coach in a tongue in cheek way.

It won’t change anything but maybe it’ll give them a little catharsis and it certainly gave them something to do and an excuse to drink and hang out on a Saturday.

If the players are pissed...play harder? Publicly crucify the cancerous coach and get him out of town? I dunno.

Either way...I think it’s funny. Hopefully Haslam and Hue are embarrassed.

I understand why a few players might be upset. Certainly. I also don't really care much. Most of them have been here a couple years. Browns fans, most of the 30 and under crowd at least, have been putting up with this their whole lives and aren't getting paid millions to do so. Instead, they (we) actually spend money on the product instead of make money off it, and when that product is beyond embarrassing, well...you reap what you sow.

As a fan I could personally find it in me to tolerate 0-16 with a 500k-15M salary in the process.

I saw the photos and couldn’t stop laughing.

Terrific group therapy.

It’s actually a positive and healthy response to the complete and utter bullshit that franchise has foisted on a tremendous fan base. No property damage, arrests, nastiness or other bad behavior like we see in other cities when they win titles or have other memorable sports events (good or bad).

Any criticism of Cleveland fans for this is IMHO unwarranted. Try going 0-16 or 1-31 in Philly for example. It wouldn’t be pretty (although no coach would ever make it to 1-31 in Philly - would be run out of town).

As for disrespecting the team - let’s not forget that the last World Series Flag in Cleveland (1948) was buried in center field by OWNER Bill Veeck late in the 1949 season which was a disappointment. He lived by a rule few lived by then and even fewer today - don’t take yourself too seriously.

The Browns failed utterly to entertain the fans this year. The fans entertain themselves with a parade and players aren’t happy? The parade in fact was more entertaining than the team, was self-funded, and collected some food for hungry people. That’s more than the players, coaches, front office and the clueless owners accomplished and they all get paid (except for the latter). Paid by revenue from fans, in fact.

The Browns organization should be grateful that several thousand fans actually cared enough to show up in the cold.
