Cleveland Browns Quarterback Position

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I looked up some history on NFL.com and came up with the grades from the top QBs since 2014. I assume they are using the same grading scale but I don't know that. Here is how everyone stacks up over the last 5 drafts.

Name Year NFL.com Grade
Sam Darnold 2018 7.10
Jameis Winston 2015 6.70
Carson Wentz 2016 6.53
Jared Goff 2016 6.51
Mitchell Trubisky 2017 6.31
Marcus Mariota 2015 6.27
Blake Bortles 2014 6.22
Josh Rosen 2018 6.19
Paxton Lynch 2016 6.17
Teddy Bridgewater 2014 6.15
Derek Carr 2014 6.14
Johnny F'ing Football 2014 6.12
Baker Mayfield 2018 6.09
Lamar Jackson 2018 6.06
Deshaun Watson 2017 5.98
Josh Allen 2018 5.95
Patrick Mahomes 2017 5.87
Connor Cook 2016 5.85
Jimmy Garappolo 2014 5.82
DeShone Kizer 2017 5.78
AJ McCarron 2014 5.76
Mason Rudolph 2018 5.66
Cody Kessler 2016 5.41
Bryce Petty 2015 5.40
Bretty Hundley 2015 5.35

Darnold is the best prospect to come out in the last 5 years according to these grades and it isn't particularly close. I can't find NFL.com grades prior to 2014 so I don't know what Andrew Luck or RG3's grades were but I'd imagine Darnold isn't too far off from Luck.
LMFAO manziel with a higher grade than Jackson

Trubisky with a higher grade than Rosen

Into the trash it goes

To be fair, he sucked throwing the out routes.

Allen was really the only QB that had a great day.

Agreed. Looking back, I think it was a smart decision for Darnold to wait and control the elements of his routine.

Rosen’s footwork impresses me so much, though.

I’ve also been impressed with these guys in front of the media. Rosen, Darnold, and Allen have been fantastic.

Barkley, too. I’m not a RB in the top 3 type of guy, but his interview was one of the most impressive things I’ve seen. So well-spoken and humble. Specifically mentioning that he loved Barry Sanders and was most impressed with how Barry handled himself—simply handing the ball to the officials after touchdowns.

In today’s “look at me” style of game with dances after first downs, Saquon is a guy I really want to root for.

Rosen showed he is just as athletic as these other QBs. Solid 40 time and good jumping ability. The footwork and mechanics...wow...top of the class. Great deep ball too. Sounds like he wowed on the whiteboard as well. His presser was very good. Very thoughtful and well spoken. Also his teammates went out of their way to say he’s a good locker room guy who they liked. Also saw him and Rudolph goofing around.

To me, Rosen shut down a lot of the narratives of being a statue, not being coachable, not wanting to be in Cleveland, and that his teammates didn’t like him.

Solidly the top QB for me.

I thought Lamar and Lauletta had a great day too.

Still, most important things that happen in Indy are the interviews and the medical checks.

The testing is mostly to affirm tape. Or help legitimize tape.

Eh they both had a number of misses too.

Never forget that even Brandon Weeden looked great without pads.
WRONG!!!

He even looked great IN PADS!!!

Allen also sucked throwing the out route.

Both of them had what, three out routes?

Who can forget Brandon Weeden’s combine performance.

“I’m not going to throw.”

Sees all the players playing ball, rips off his warm ups and jumps in half way through.

America lauds his competitive drive and will to win!

Simpler times.

So in your guys opinion: Did any of them hurt or help themselves in terms of who we are gonna pick? My views: Rosen seemed to have a bad day, Allen looked good for the most part. Mayfield I just don't see as being a factor for the Browns. Darold not throwing doesn't really effect his stock. Thoughts?

All are still in play. And probably will be until they get them in that closed room and shut the doors

So I’ve read Rosen was great, Rosen was decent, and Rosen was bad.

Goes to show, I guess.
