Cleveland Browns Quarterback Position

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I watched the board a lot before I signed up, and after I posted when I first signed up. I got tired of AZ thinking he knew it all and bashed Allen without any real reasoning behind it. He is an Internet bully and basically the only one I have zero respect for. Most others on here use logic at least part of the time. I am sorry to come on so strong , but that happens when a gang comes at you. Which AZ was praying for. We have his type on our boards and I have no problem taking it to them. A guy has to use more than feelings when discussing quarterbacks. If it is an opinion, state it as an opinion. If you think it is a fact, be able to back it up. But people on here just say he has a big arm, nothing else. I highly doubt a big arm and nothing else gets you into the talk of being picked #1. There are more factors. I was trying to add what most don't know or want to admit about him on here.

Did I go about it in the right way, absolutely not. Did the people who went after me handle it correctly? Absolutely not. While you think Allen didn't do well at the combine, there are way many more that say he was hands down the best. So ya gotta take it for what it's worth. And just so you know, Allen didn't get receivers hurt at Wyoming. You guys have an unfair bias against him. For one we rarely threw across the middle because our OC had terrible pass routes. If Allen could have thrown across the middle his percentage takes a huge leap. It was mostly down and outs, passes out of the backfield, and short corner routes. They didn't use his arm right. So I am hopeful he goes to a team that can get the most out of him because he is the complete package. His improvement in throwing the ball away from last year to this year was huge. It cost him percentage wise, but it helped with turnovers and sacks. The growih and maturity between his two years starting was huge, which people who haven't watched him would never know. I blame his OC/ quarterback coach for most of his downside.

If Allen would have played for Oklahoma and got to face those week assed defenses he could have torn them up just like Baker. I do love Baker's leadership after watching all of the Senior Bowl practices. He is a strong leader. I worry about his throws over the middle because of his heigth. It affected him a few times in the Senior Bowl.

Take it from me man, I used to think az was an asshole, still do, but I have learned to respect him, he does actually contribute and provide good takes that I appreciate. Typically always has an opinion and a strong one. But most of the time has good backing. He ain't so bad after you get over all the disagree's he gives you and no likes. :(

I mean hey..at the end of the day it's a discussion board..

Baker for President.

First thing you’ve said that I’ve agreed with. Now... look in the mirror.

Not too worried about some goofball on a message board. I will sleep well tonight. I learned a long time ago you can't please everyone. One thing I learned about this board is there are some real good people on here and some not so good. I have been on boards where some people take over the board and try and run it by being loud, brash, and cutting on anyone who disagrees. After a while the board just tries to get along with them and let them have their way so they don't get ridden on. I will try and get along with anyone who offers me the same respect they want me to give them. But I won't back down to an ass. In Wyoming we call it like it is.

I got cornered a few times in the last few days and acted out because I was getting ganged up on. I will apologize for that. I don't like to act like that. I have faults and won't puff up and say I don't. But I won't lay down for someone like AZ. His behavior would get him his ass kicked around my parts in a big hurry. But he can hide behind a computer screen on here and get away with it . That is the downside of a message board. The upside is talking sports with like minded people . I have made lifelong friends on other boards and have met up with quite a few people over the years. So I would rather look at the group on here as people hungry to give out info and receive it. Exchange feedback and preferably get along. I love to learn , so I read and research things a lot. I travel a lot and never know when I might be in an area for a game. So it is good to get to know different fan bases. I have been an Oriole fan,Celtics fan, and Raider fan forever. Once I start rooting for a team I have to stick with them out of loyalty. But I pick up other teams to root for. But I like to get to know fan bases the most. To find out who has the best fans.

The Broncos are who most people like in Wyoming, but I hate them. I pray Allen doesn't get drafted by them. But in a way it would be nice if they did, just because all of their games are on TV and a short drive to watch them. I played in an all star basketball game against the Broncos and Elway when he was a rookie. He was a nice enough guy. But they had a few linemen that were jerks. I think most of them were partying before we played them. And we partied with them after we played, so it was all good. I have just always rooted against the Broncos because I was a Raiders fan. All the teams I root for is who was playing in the Super Bowl, World Series, or NBA championship when I was young. We weren't a big enough state to have our own pro teams. Brett Kiesel of the Steelers was from my small hometown. He was a better basketball player than a football player in my mind. He used to bring Rothlesburger back to town with him during the summer. I would see them playing pool and smoking cigars downtown. We are not used to spotting athletes like you guys probably are.

I just figured I would take a minute to let some of you know a little about me. I don't want to be a know it all or come off like one. And I apologize for it if I did. I will try and treat any of you with respect as long as it goes both ways. I hope the Browns get the quarterback they deserve, it is high time you guys got a break. I don't know much about Sashi Brown, but he did leave you guys in a good spot with the draft. And now Dorsey seems like he is expanding on it. I think he will get it right, he has been making some good moves. I really thought he would get Alex Smith to be the bridge quarterback. Smith used to come to Laramie when he was at Utah and embarrassed us. He was a great duel threat qb back then. That is when Urban Meyer was coaching them. Maybe someone could explain why Dorsey didn't get Smith here as the qb? I am half afraid to learn of all the bad coaching and gm moves you guys had to put up with over the years. And how hard it was when they moved your franchise out of the city. I have a lot of questions, hopefully you guys can answer them if it isn't too painful. I am real curious as to who you guys will grab at #4. I was reading an article the other day when a writer asked about the possibility of the Browns drafting two quarterbacks in the first round. And the answer was that it was brought up. Quite interesting, not that it would happen. The draft is almost here, it is going to be interesting.

Thank you for sharing your history. I think we all admire that you stick-up for your boys (Nance, Allen) and have devoted a good deal of time to watching, analyzing and reporting on Allen's attributes. You have a unique insight.

That said, I think you could benefit from getting used to some of the personalities on the boards here, not taking things so personally, and adhering to a less confrontational style of posting.

Indeed, I think everyone involved, including @AZ_ and the esteemed @The Human Q-Tip, should try a cease-fire and perhaps starting anew so that everyone can share their opinions without being attacked.

I have noticed a trend where people take out their frustrations over who may, or may not be, the #1 Pick out on posters, on those who have no actual influence over the impending decision. We should all move on from that mentality.

This is not an invitation to hash out grievances as to who started what, but a request for all parties to bury the hatchet and move on. The Cavs are blackening everyone's mood and I would hate to see that ugliness infect the Browns threads as well.

Peace be with you all.

The pick at number four has change for us a bit after the CBs we have signed. We essentially have the pick on the board between Minkah, Ward, Barkley and Chubb, but with more people leaning towards Chubb now.

Also a trade down from 4 is more accepted overall for the right price.

Brown did a great job of getting the picks for us this season so hopefully the veteran GM in Dorsey can take advantage properly of it!

Absolutely nothing has changed as a result of the corners we’ve signed. Nor should it. Gaines is on a 1-year deal and we are still missing that lockdown #1 corner.

We are taking BPA. We were always taking BPA unless given a king’s ransom.

The shift is that consensus has grown to believe that Chubb is said BPA.

Sounds like Rosen's stock is dropping like a rock. Eric Galko who is very well thought of, has him slipping to 17 in his new mock drafts.

Is that drop justified to you? I think it is crazy. He didn't get to be any worse of a qb by not playing any football since his last game. He threw well at the combine and pro days. No one reported anything negative about his personal workouts. It is just odd that things like this happen. If he does actually drop that far, someone is going to get a hell of a deal. Maybe some of the teams who want to draft him and chose not to move up are starting rumors hoping he drops so they could get a chance at him. And I don't really believe in conspiracy theories of that magnitude. I still think he goes in the first 4 qb's taken.

#17 is absurd. Hell, if Rosen drops past #2 he’s going to make a lot of teams look downright foolish.

Quite frankly there’s a decent chance we too fall into that group when he drops past #1.

Sounds like an Aaron Rodgers drop...

Who I compare his personality to.
