Cleveland Browns Quarterback Position

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
And 3 out of the 4 drafted outside the top 10

In fact, backing up to before this weekends results, 6 of the 8 starting QBs were drafted outside the top 10

Smith - 1st pick/developed with 2nd team
Ryan - 3rd pick
Big Ben - 11th pick
Rodgers - 26th pick
Osweiler - 2nd round
Wilson - 3rd Round
Prescott - 4th round
Brady - 6th round
This settles it- if they take a QB high in the draft I'm boycotting. This also shows that Tierod is the way to go- he combines Alex Smith and Tom Brady, a 6th rounder on his second team.

It doesn't matter who we have unless we can protect him.

Signing Taylor as just another retread QB is falling down the same path we've been through over and over again since 1999. I don't want any QB that is not capable of winning a Super Bowl at some point down the line in their career because that's the end goal here right?

Why add 2-4 meaningless wins per season and destroy draft positioning per usual.

Nah, not interested. Draft a QB.

I don't know how closely you've watched them, but Buffalo has been a mess the last two years. Tyrod was able to play near 0.500 ball despite this. I believe he's a top 15 QB that can lead a team into the playoffs, and I think Hue can maximize him.

He'd be such a better option than punting on QB altogether or overdrafting one of these guys you're not sold on just to have the letters 'QB' in your draft recap.

I agree. Also it allows to take a flyer on a QB later in the draft we could develop. I still think Kessler with more time can still be something.

Tyrod is more dependable than RG3, whom I believe Hue wanted to have around in the interim while he hunts for the young solution... Count me in for TT as well.

Who is to say we shouldn't still take a QB later on? This would be fucking fantastic news as then maybe Hue can wait another year, use our #12 on an actual player, not a wishful QB, and then STILL take our QB in 2018, which will have a loaded QB class.

And remember, even if we take a QB this year, or even next year, we will have Tyrod, an actual "good" QB to stay in for 2 years while our new QB sits.

This would be a dream scenario, honestly. Of course Cousins or someone else could be better, but as people have pointed out, Tyrod w/Hue, he hasn't exactly been a slouch recently...

Past 2 years: (reiterating @BimboColesHair stats he posted earlier)

Passing: 6058yds, 37 TD's, 12 INT's
Rushing: 1148yds, 10 TD's

Go after him, maybe still take a flier on a QB mid-late this year, then without a doubt take one in 2018 to take over for Tyrod when the time is right.

Get it done.

I would be on board with Tyrod but, does anyone think he would actually want to come here?

Maybe not, but he's not going to have a ton of chances to start. I'm sure he'd balk at offers to be a back-up if there are situations that will make him a starter out there. Teams who may look at him: SF, Chicago, Cleveland, NYJ, & potentially Denver.

Have any of you guys actually watched Tyrod?

His accuracy is atrocious at times and he was throwing behind one of the best offensive lines in the league.

I think Hue Jackson would make this a desirable place, especially if we promise to address the line and get him one more weapon.

Imagine Mike Williams at 12, keep Pryor and return the receivers from last year. Then use a 4th rounder on another OL, sign a free agent center, and re-sign Pastor and Crowell.

That makes us a pretty decent offense. Further we wouldnt be as run heavy as Buffalo, and all QB's love to throw allot. He only threw the ball 29 times a game. I dont think we suddenly become the saints were Drew threw the ball 43 times a game, but given the weapons, we could see 35-38 which gets Tyrod closer to the 4,000 yard mark.

I'll take our chances with Tyrod.....

Watched him allot, had McCoy, he isnt atrocious, he is average on accuracy, ball sales at times, but given the right situation, he could be a top 15 maybe top 10 QB and gives us an immediate legit starter instead of a 3-4 year project.

Top 10 is SERIOUSLY pushing it.

If you make a list, you will find he's not in there. Top 15 is about right though. He's probably in the top half of the league, right in there with Jameis, Flacco and Dalton. That tier of guy. Just because of his legs.

I'd be on board with this move, if only because he's literally an average or so QB and the Browns don't even have that.
