Man, I would love nothing more as a Tribe fan than for Trader Jerry to make that deal, but I think Zimmer's value has taken a hit since the second half of the 2017 season.

It actually may not be far off though what type of deal could be made, but they may want a Chang instead of Bradley. Then if Haniger has a good 19, we extend him. Zimmer's value is down, but added in a couple solid potential prospects with him, should make the deal possible.

I am on board with the trades but expect Perez and Holland to get (small) major league deals.

Diaz hits for no power and doesn’t really have a position. If he has value I’d be pleasantly surprised

I like Edwin a lot personally but I'd move him in a heartbeat, especially if you could get an OF or RP for him.

I'd move Edwin in a heartbeat for a decent prospect and a bullpen arm.

Getting off that contract would allow us to actually pursue Brantley, or at the very least some other alternatives.

He does get on base quite often though, and we’ve seen high contact hitters like Yandy eventually increase their power over time. I really don’t see the logic in selling low on Yandy, especially if they’re also looking to move Edwin which opens up a spot at DH.

He's 27, he's never hit for power. He'd have to drastically change his swing in order to hit for any power, and has shown no inclination to make any adjustments.

Would have to be contingent on other additions, totally agree.

My only problem trading Edwin is during spring training he went out of his way to be nice to my son and the fans in general. He really seemed to get how important player interaction is during spring ball and was a genuine nice guy. Its fun to go watch players like that.

That said, it has nothing to do with baseball, just met and really liked the guy,

Not a big fan of trading Edwin, especially if the return is just a prospect and/or a bullpen arm. Our lineup is weakened. He doesn't hit for average but pencil him in every year for 30 homers and 100 RBI's.

Hes also, what, 36 and going to make 20 million this year?

That cliff is coming and if we can move off his money, it would be tremendous. It would allow the Indians to maybe get a few bullpen pieces or make a real run at bringing Brantley back.

I believe now is the best time to get out. I think we just got the last of Edwin's good years. His decline from 2017 to 2018 was sharp, and I don't see him going anywhere but down.

In 2017 he has a 130 wRC+, on par with what Lindor did this past year. Awesome.

In 2018 that dropped to 115, which put him on par with Corey Dickerson. Still good, but less awesome for sure.

Factor in the rising K%, the falling BB%, and that he was just a 1 WAR player last season; I want out as fast as possible. He could easily be Trey Mancini-esque next year.
