Cleveland Indians 2018-2019 Offseason Outlook

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Lebron being gone will help Indians attendance. As Cavs are likely a 30-40 win team, there will be more interest in the Indians in April. I think the Cavs being Finals contenders the last 4 years has hurt attendance considerably.

Only way to get significantly better is by trading. I'm dealing none of those guys mentioned because that's our core for a pennant. But I will deal Bieber or McKenzie packaged with what ever young bats a team wants in return.

LA trades for Machado, in NLCS again.
MIL trades for Yelich, in NLCS.

We know the 2 trades that put Houston over the top. Sickening.

I would sign a veteran 5th starter to replace Bieber.

Yelich is going to win the MVP but the Brewers roster is pretty unrecognizable from last season's team. Think 12 of the 25 players on their ALDS roster were on the team last year.

No offense but the Cavs being good had minimal to do with this Indians attendance the past couple of years and will continue to have minimal to do with the Indians attendance now. I honestly don't get the attendance problems they have they've consistently been the best run organization in town and over the past couple of decades had more sustained success then anyone else, yet here we are. It's probably more of a baseball wide thing then a Cleveland specific thing with attendance seemingly treading downward for baseball if I remember correctly.

Yeah LeBron leaving will have no major impact on attendance.

Attendance will be the same next year as it has the last 2 years:

Great on Opening Day, awful for the rest of April

Sell outs on Friday & Saturday from June-August with low 30k on Sunday's

17-22k for weekday night games, 24-28k for weekday day games

This town is very ADD. It seems like most fans can only focus on one sport at a time. I should preface that if the Browns are good or even mediocre, than the Indians will still struggle with attendance. This is a football first town and as soon as the Browns are relevant, once August comes, all the attention will be drawn away from the Tribe, unless they are a 100+ win team.

When do we start getting wind of a new logo, possible rebrand?

The Browns have very little to do with the Indians attendance unless they play on the same day.

To me Milwaukee's trade and Los Angeles' trade are very different when it comes to us. I wouldn't sell the farm for a rental like Machado, but absolutely would for a guy like Yelich who has five more years of control. What a deal for Milwaukee.

They have to say that, and they probably ensured that everything was done the right way.

Likely buying the remaining tickets and distributing them to various charities and what not. But I was told by someone who would know that the game was not an actual "sell-out."

Take it FWIW
Cmon AZ how dumb do you think we are

We know damn well the Dolans would never donate to charity. this conspiracy theory is too far fetched to even entertain

What do you guys think of the hitting coach Tyler Van Burkleo. I feel like the hitting approach to this team is wrong. And while we were near the top of the list in runs scored, the team was too streaky and not consistent enough. I think Ramirez and Lindor need to be more line drive hitters and not hit for the home run every time they are up. I'd be much happier if they hit .330 and cut down their home runs to about 25 - 30 then hit .270 with 40 HRs. Every batter except Brantley tries to pull the ball and the other teams shift to defend it. I don't like it and think that a new approach needs to be taken to get to the next level.

I can’t imagine Edwin having any market whatsoever in a trade. We’d probably have to eat some of his money and get almost nothing back in return. His type of player just isn’t valuable to have right now.

If the Indians themselves have gone on record that they don’t feel as prepared as an organization, then it reflect poorly on the people whose responsibility it is to gameplan.

Specifically Carl Willis and TVB.

If they want to go out and find a replacement, I’m all for it.

If that involves moves with the advance scouting team, I’m on board with that too.
