Collecting Obsessions

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Happy Birthday Wanda June. ( His only play, i believe)

My wife surprised me with tickets to see him speak for my birthday, and i was wholly unprepared.. so when i saw he was signing books, i bought the only one i did not already have.. a laughed when I saw the asshole in his signature..

It was a hilarious talk by the way.

And as for old textbooks, you should try it. They contain what people thought was literature at the time.. i have one called Modern English Prose dated 1906.. it has excerpts from what they thought was model prose at the time. I believe it was an American text because it includes mostly American Authors..

One of them has Teddy Roosevelts speech after he was shot... one has Mark Twains story about the lindburger cheese on the train.. it brings me to tears laughing..

I’m busting your balls. That’s a really interesting collection.

Funko Pops. I'm up to about 140 now and have been collecting before the product line was ever considered a "collectors item." Originally, I bought The Notorious B.I.G., Peter Pan, Michael Jackson and Batman to add some creative "pop" (pun intended) to my new music studio. That collection has since grown and I lucked out by purchasing a ton of the original line 7-8 years ago, some of which are now over $300-$400 each.

I am not going to lie.

I had to look up what a Funko Pop was.

But, that is really cool. Do you have a pic?

Here's my current collection (I'm an out-of-the-box collector - normally frowned upon, but I'm more into using them as a source of inspiration than a dust and dollar collector):

Nice!

I notice you don't have a Stannis Funko!

Haha, sorry, my friend! I should put that on the next shopping list. Unfortunately there's just way too many GoT releases so I stuck with the Night King and Dany.

Pubes from women over the age of 65. I use them to stuff throw pillows that I keep in the back of my white, windowless conversion van.

Who doesn't?

Whiskey and vintage watches

Do you collect Swiss watches?

Also, is there anyone that collects Militaria?

Military type relics, medals, bayonets, uniforms, stuff like that?

I picked up a Pavel Bure presentation watch. In silver.

These were given out by Tsar Nicholas II for various things.

One of this type was probably presented to a junior officer or very senior NCO for some job well done.

The gold ones were generally reserved for senior officers, high-ranking diplomats and nobles.

I still collect baseball cards off and on over the years, although I've put it back on hold due to family, covid and an exploding market that has driven prices back up. I'm a wierd collector, though, I enjoy building sets from packs and in general don't hunt for the lottery ticketesque intentionally rare shit. I also enjoy the aesthetics of the cards more than monetary value; some of the most mass produced cards of the 80s and early 90s have little value but just look the best to me and I still love opening up those. Same with the new stuff, if I don't like the look I don't bother to collect it.

I have a few different iterations of poker chips. Next set will hopefully be a casino paulson set.

Something like this would me amazing:

I'd also like to pick up a Rounders Teddy KGB replica set at some point:
