Columbus Blue Jackets thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I hate to turn this into hockey talk thread because it clearly says Columbus Blue Jackets, but whatever. What are ya'lls thoughts / knowledge of the Canes? What do you hear about them up in Ohio?

I am a regular poster/stalker on a few hockey message boards and have been a Canes fan since I was a kid. The Canes are largely forgotten about and irrelevant to many hockey fans it seems. I guess a decade without a playoff appearance will do that, and the non-traditional hockey market doesn't help. Plus we haven't had a really sexy player in that time frame. Guys like Eric Staal and Jeff Skinner had loads of potential and came out of the gate looking like they'd be future superstars, but they never really took that next step to become elite players.

It seems we are always bad enough to miss the playoffs, but we were never picking in the top 3 to take the generational talents. We always draft in that 5-15 range, which has gotten us some nice players, but not the sexy prospects that are becoming the face of the league MacKinnon, McDavid, Matthews, etc.

Woke up and took a look at the Las Vegas-San Jose box score. My God. It was like a Game 7 on cocaine. Vegas, who had a 3-1 series lead at one point, had a 3-0 lead in the third period. San Jose scored four unanswered in the span of four minutes but Vegas tied the game with only 0:47 left. The Sharks ended up winning with a little under two minutes to go in OT.

In other news, Boston beat Toronto in their Game 7 match-up yesterday. The Blue Jackets will start their series with them tomorrow.

Just bought 2 as well for game 4. section 327. $135/each. Flipping absurd. STMs must be reselling at a HUGE price.

I'm in Section 330. I wasn't able to buy through the Hurricanes Ticketmaster page since they require a billing address in NC, SC, or VA. So I had to go through SeatGeek. $200 after all the fees for one ticket.

Went to the last CBJ/Boston game. Was rough.

But Toronto has a lot of fire power talent from a forward position. Hard pass. Favorable matchup.

I enjoyed watching the Jackets run. I wish it had turned out better. But, in the end the Bruins were superior. I hope the Jackets can build on this for next season.

I only follow hockey in a cursory fashion, but, as I understand, CBJ is going to lose a bunch of key pieces this offseasn?

Likely losing Bobrovsky and Panarin but I think they will be able to keep Matt Duchene.

Panarin is looking for best player in the league money and a bigger market. Bob is also looking to get paid.

Any CBJ fans are welcome to support the Hurricanes the rest of the playoffs. We are a fun team.

Bunch of Jerks vs actual jerks/Massholes. You know who to cheer for.

That blows. Oh well.

Rooting for the Canes. Living in NC for the past year, nobody is really talking about them.

We have a lot of young talent waiting in the wings - just a matter of coaching them up to their potential but the loss of Panarin will definitely be felt. Gotta keep developing guys like Dubois, Bjorkstand, Anderson and hoping our vets can step it up next year to make a push.
