Computer advice...

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
why do you want to sit at a desk to watch video and surf the web? I thought you wanted a computer to use in the car, presumably when you are waiting for your next customer. You'll be hard pressed to find something better than the iPad for that.
Two purposes, mainly for carrying with me, but i also have a habit of staying in bed and losing myself in research. And it hurts my sleep habits too. If your bed is your office, its no longer your bed.

I'll post it again, you answered one question so far:

Build your use case. What do you do w/ it?

Email? How do you access, program or web browser?
Browsing? Browser preference?
OS? Do you care
Games? Do you play games? If so, what do you want to play on it?
Apps? Any known applications you require (office, etc)?
Budget: Low

I know it's not exciting creating your use case, but if you want a good recommendation, it's necessary. What specific acts must it perform? Is it just a web browser you need?

I also see you said you don't like Apple, though I'd not rule out a solution until you're done building the use case. The reason KI4MVP keeps leaning towards iPad, is it really does the majority of what "most" folks do. It's been huge for my Mom, as an example. No more managing a PC, sitting at the desk isn't a requirement (but an option), she's free to research (Safari / Web Browsing) anywhere w/ multiple configurations for comfort.

People picture an iPad only in the living room, but you add a Bluetooth keyboard and you can type away at normal speed vs touch screen and the iPad is really just a small monitor then. They even have cases that bring the Bluetooth keyboard into the case for an all in 1 solution. I'm just saying, I wouldn't rule anything out. (To be fair, most everything I just said you can accomplish on an Android tablet as well, if that's your thing).

I think ive decided on a ssd 2 in 1.

I said no to tablets bc.. I forget, you cant do a few things you can with a proper laptop.

Just to run through, yes, browsing, ability to hook up to my hdtv (almost accidentally bought a tab that disallowed), tetherable internet (i think thats why i didnt want a tab), portable and high on battery life, no gaming dont care, would like hd space but i can live without.

Just using to playback media while out, to research and study at home in proper laptop structure where I'm encouraged to sit up, and hook up to my tv

That's basically a tablet w/ a keyboard attachment. OS on those range anywhere from Chrome, Windows 10, etc.

What phone do you use? Consider your ecosystem of devices as well.

I got tired of the search so i ended up getting an android 2in1 tab.

I think i made the right choice. The biggest issue i see is that basically im not going to have internet connected to it, and itll be a pain in the ass downloading media and uploading to the tab.

Its a minor inconvenience on paper, but I currently have a system that gives me immediate access on my phone to related content, and i go through roughly 10 hours and 40 videos a day.

What else can i expect with this thing?

I bought one of these (Dell Inspiron 11.6" 2in1 touch screen quad core pentium n3700) about a year ago and upgraded to a 250gb SSD (from 500gb IDE) and added another 4GB of ram (8GB total), and upgraded the wifi/bluetooth card, bought a bluetooth mouse (it'll also play 1080p video but sometimes I'll get a little bit of lag). With a case and everything else I spent less than $500 total. It's a nice, quiet little laptop/tablet (no cd-rom or LAN port is about the only downside - but you could use a USB device for each).

Idk how to feel about the size but that's obviously objective.

Im using foxfi bluetooth to connect. Any idea why i can connect to browse but play store and yt remain offline?

this thing is awesome. still undecided on the size - mine is 10.6, 13.3 has advantages when being used in other settings

keyboard is difficult to get used to so far. sometimes the mouse will actibate when im typing and im recentered to the middle of prior paragraphs and write inside them. tiny keys, big fingers and hands. idk if the battery actually lasts 8 hours.

foxfi works through bluetooth which is awesome. google apps dont work but you can access them all through browser, so no real problem there.

night and day difference in every day life. will be able to run errands throughout the day without having to go to home base and recollect.

So there are external hard drives for like, $5.. 3tb give or take.

...what is wrong with them?

Are they used or new? Who is selling them?

Samsung, iomega and seastate or something?

Worst that could happen is you have a $5 coaster.

Theres a glitch in google shop function. Incorrect products are matching to incorrect titles and prices.

So why can't I hook up my tablet to my TV when it specifically contains an hdmi outlet?
