Dahntay Jones is back

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I still don't get why we signed him. But I'm trying to put it in a Starcraft perspective in order to understand. Dahntay is the Queen of Blades and the rest of the crew are just Zerg Queens and she's just trying to get the rest of the brood back into the fold so they can be united to win the ultimate objective. Wow. OK, I think I get it now.

Fuck yeah, Danhtay.

I do like the nastiness and "don't give a f***" attitude Jones brings, as others have said.

One instance I recall in Jones' career was a game in which he got into it with Kobe Bryant. Jones got so pissed off at Kobe that he intentionally put his legs under Kobe's when Kobe went up for a jump shot, resulting in Kobe turning one of his ankles when he came down from the shot.

It's this kind of play that led the NBA to make the rule that you have to give shooters space to land once they go up. And I think the Jones play was specifically brought up when the rule change was made.

Jones is basically a guy who will do anything to beat you or get back at you. Take your legs out on a jump shot, punch you in the groin, anything.

Having a guy that desperate to win on the team is not a bad thing, particularly when the team could use an enforcer-type of figure. Just his presence might stop teams from trying to get cute with us because they might fear what Jones could do in return for a cheap shot against us.

This guy is simply living the life I wanna live.....

Sit around all year doing nothing-- don't have to travel or take part in practice, or get up early for shootarounds--- and is signed the last game of the year and is ready to go back to back....

If anyone has read the Windy/McMenamin book, it shouldn't be a surprise. I guess there were about a dozen "coming to Jesus" meetings last year led by 5-6 different people throughout the season. Hell, Handy had to give one in the finals for crying out loud. This team constantly needs to get their butts kicked into shape so if Dahntay helps, so be it.

Doesn't the sheer number of them at some point make you question their value.... ?

Yeah. It's great that it worked in the past, but after a certain point if it happens with enough regularity it gets pretty easy to zone out.

It does somewhat speak to the personality of the team in a way, which is to say they're a bunch of lolligaggers who need yelled at and shamed from time to time. But once somebody gets them fired up they can be pretty good.

Dude is our goon, but that ejection was comical.

He's a d-league level goon. Top-level NBA goons are more subtle and go entire games punching, kicking, and elbowing people with only the occasional Flagrant 1 as punishment. Draymond had to kick people in the balls numerous times for months before he could get even a one game suspension, and Golden State fans are still complaining that he got even that. Compare to Dahntay who got kicked out in two minutes for some backtalk.

The Refs were just pissed the Cavs had a blow out going. I swear these NBA Refs are the worst scum on the earth however in this case it made D. Jones look bad ass lol
