Damn, Jimmy G this is some serious good quarterbacking.

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I think the Pats fucked up. I'm as big of a Brady fan as anyone. Yeah, one of the few Brown fans that doesn't hate him. Not a fan of the Pats though.

I would have cut ties with Brady, and gone with Jimmy. Brady is 40 years old. I don't care how great he is now, his window is closing. He's not playing another 5 years.

Jimmy can be the guy for the next 10-15. I mean, the Pats aren't winning a SB anyways.

Their defense sucks, and they can't pass block at all. Given that Brady has to do everything, not sure that's winning you a SB.

I think Bill Belichick, one of the rare times, made a huge mistake. There are rumors it wasn't his decision though. That Kraft made it for him.

He's 40 years old. Not sure why its "stupid" when the Packers and 49ers have made the same decisions. Cutting ties with Favre, and Montana, when they were younger.

It's a hard and debatable decision at the very least. Not sure why its stupid, to at least consider it. Given Brady, as great as he is, won't be playing football at a high level forever.

Do you really believe he's going to be this good at age 43?

Tom Brady can fall off a cliff any moment. We saw Peyton Manning go from 55 TDs in a season, to out of the league fast.

Haha trading Brady smh I’ve heard it all.
And brady isn’t pulling a Manning, Manning was on HGH from his surgery that’s how his cliff came about

4-0 with a team less talented than the Browns. Beating playoff teams. Undefeated as a starter. Wow.

Just goes to show that all you really need is a QB.

Everything else falls into place when your QB is good.

Hopefully Darnold, Rosen or Mayfield is making plays like that for the Browns next year.

Because he's the best of all time, still playing like the best of all time, and has done more for his franchise than arguably any athlete in modern sports history.

Pats can just as easily draft a QB in the 2nd or 3rd this year and let him sit under Brady until Brady is ready to hang them up. He'll be ~5 years younger than Jimmy G and won't be making $20m+ a year.

Sure, he'll slow down at one point. But yes, it's 100% stupid to suggest trading him right now.

I told you I told you. But no he’s Matt Cassel or Hoyer

I don't think many thought he was. Not sure I, you, or anyone should be given that much credit.

Half the league wanted him badly, for a reason.

I'm not arguing Brady's greatness. And you can't trade Brady, likely, because of his contract anyways...

Him being the best of all-time, and still being great isn't the point. He's 40 years of age, and is going to be hanging it up likely in one to two years. I don't think the Pats should have gotten rid of Brady now. Yes, that would be stupid.

Wasn't at all suggesting the Pats get rid of Brady NOW. I should have clarified what I meant.

I meant at the end of the season, I would have. Can't keep Brady and Jimmy under the cap.

Again, guys, after the season Brady is 41. NO ONE IN THE HISTORY OF THE LEAGUE has played at a pro bowl level at that age at his position.

I'm not even suggesting he's going to be done like that. But his time is coming fast. All it takes is one good injury, and he's DONE. Your body doesn't recover the same at 41 like it does at 30. I don't care how great of shape he's in.

And Brady is going to be playing this well, for how long????

Bro, we get it, you're Brady nut licker.

He's not playing at this level for another three years. If you don't like it, crawl back under your Brady anal blanket.

Glad the Pats traded away Jimmy G. Because when Brady retires in two years, the Pats will be useless. And you'll probably be 49ers fan by then.

If Hue Jackson is still coach, we'll probably find creative ways to lose no matter how much talent we've got.

So you trade the mvp and guy who just completed the greatest comeback of all time who showed no sign of slowing down. Ok got it, hopefully we replace B.B. with you.

It’s nice to know you know the future too considering Brady arm has gotten stronger every year and he’s not a gun slinger like Farve was. How can the Pats be useless when brady is gone I’ve been told brady is a system player just like Garrapolo right.

Tom Brady is on cruise control right now.

I don’t think his current ability is the issue. He’s still playing great.

However, I think in the next 3 years, he takes a hit, and his body doesn’t respond how it did in his early 30’s. That’s what makes him risky to build around.

That’s also when he’s going to cliff-dive. Any punishing sack could be his last. The injuries will be what do it.

Peyton Manning was derailed by the neck and his arm was gone even before going to Denver. He threw 55 touchdowns with his brain. But then the offensive line play slipped and he started taking hits. Next thing we know he’s got a bad ankle, bad knee, and bad shoulder. He was even shutdown a chunk of his final year. These things catch up with people. It’s injuries that do it.

I agree brady probably wont be an mvp player down the road but comparing him to manning is insulting. That guy was on HGH and couldn’t throw past 15 yards. And ya hits will probably do him in but brady has said he’s studied how to take a hit and land to take the contact. When you watch brady you could tell this is true he really falls different bracing contacting.

There was no choice but to trade Jimmy G yes I would’ve done it at draft for 12 and other picks but B.B. wanted to see Brady play I believe. I think Brady can keep up mvp play for at least 2 years than be a top 10 qb for 2 years after.

I agree that he “can” be MVP if things all go well.

It doesn’t even take a big sack, just someone falling on him or finishing a sack on him. He can “learn to fall” all he wants. The chances of a broken clavicle, back injury, or broken ribs is much higher as the wear and tear grows.

And once that happens, healing isn’t the same. Tom Brady is a tough son of a bitch, but he isn’t even attempting that injury comeback that Rodgers did this year.

I like watching Tom cheat time. I think it’s awesome. For a guy who has everything in life, he just loves the game and will play through pain. For that reason, I think it’s going to be injury that ends his career. I don’t see a graceful depart from the game.

Anyone sayig Brady should be traded should go down to the local bridge and jump off it.

Coming off a Super Bowl and still the 2nd or 3rd best player in the NFL.

You don't trade a legend like that. You go down with the ship and he retires a Patriot.

Seems like that's Bill's plan too. No way you trade Jimmy unless you decided you're retiring when Brady does. Trading a first for Cooks last year was another indication that the Pats are going all in the next couple of years until Brady falls off a cliff and retires.

I am not saying they should have done it, but there is precedent. Joe Montana went on to have several good years in KC and Young went on to win a Super Bowl. Favre was clearly not the QB he was in his prime and Rodgers went on to win a SB too.

To say its stupid is in correct.

I think the difference here is your GM/Coach might be thinking about hanging it up too. So the future is not as important to Belicheck as the present.
