Damn, Jimmy G this is some serious good quarterbacking.

I dont agree, Joe always spoke honestly. He took a contract extension for a reason. I think he has 2 years left then coaching.

I think his timeline will depend a lot on how the next 18 months go. If the Browns are awful, I can see him walking away.

But if the Browns take Rosen and he lights the world on fire, I think Joe is the type who would want to see that first playoff appearance through.

I know he has aspirations to do other things but Joe wouldn’t have stuck around through all the bullshit only to bow out just as the sun was coming up.

I don’t know about coaching... I’d love to hear joe Thomas do color commentary next to Jim Donovan

Even in light of what Matches posted & what this tweet spells out, this thread won't die.

Hard to blame Sashi & this revelation really paints the coaching staff in shitty light. They made it seem like Sashi wasn't trying for JG at all when he was more than likely being ignored. Now, that's damning in itself that Bill B won't deal with you, but it certainly doesn't seem to be for lack of effort or not knowing what's going on out there.

Why didn't this story come out immediately?

This sounds like a lot of revisionist history talk to me.

"Oh yeah, well we were gonna trade the Texans pick for this guy we now see is really good......so we are smart".

Stories say Kraft gave an edict to trade JG and then (based on BB only fielding calls from SF) didn't bother to ask "what are the offers" when it came time to move him? Sure.

Stuff like this never passes the smell test for me......it's a story to help make Sashi and the FO not look stupid. If that pick was on the table, he'd be in Cleveland. NE would have already known about the Watson injury.

I put a few things I heard about the peculiar Jimmy trade/gifting out there the first 48 hours it happened. One key here is that Belichick liked dealing with Lynch. Lynch had a rapport with Belichick and actually thought about playing one last year in New England before accepting he wasn't mentally ready for another season. He also knew it wouldn't drag on: Jimmy traded, he gets a backup who knows the system, then he moves on.

One other key factor is agent Don Yee, who represents both Garoppalo and Brady. To keep the waves from getting choppy, Brady and Garoppalo both got what they wanted. I'm guessing the agent wanted Garoppalo happy with his landing spot and his offensive coach - I'd personally take Shanahan in a heartbeat over Hue.

Pre-injury, he definitely wasn't done. He's obviously not at his peak, but that's to be expected. If he heals and still has the will to play, we take him at LT no problem.

And no, I am not biased. Pay no attention to the avy.

I'd guess because all the Bellichick/Brady/Kraft stuff is also coming out. More an offshoot of that than people caring about the Browns.

First things first. It's a shit move to bump a thread from four months ago to re-hash an argument I was correct about.

He was not worth that value, and was dealt for a second round selection.

In all honestly, stop shit posting this board or simply just put me on ignore. If the shoe were on the other foot, I'm certain it would result in a ban...but for some apparent reason your shit continues to be put up with for reasons passing understanding.

Says the guy who I only assume sprains ligaments patting himself on the back on old draft threads. :)

I don't see anything wrong with re-examining acthread a few months later, especially a popular one. In this specific case, however, it should all be with a grain of salt since we now know the Pats/Jimmy's agent wasn't going to trade him to the Browns even when the Browns gave a higher offer than the Niners.

Plenty of other teams out there who need a QB and he still got dealt for a 2.

As I said, he hadn't earned the value to recoup a first rounder. And he didn't.
