So long, David Griffin

Pretty much nobody was saying this before the season. They took a flyer and got lucky. Monday morning quarterbacking.

That's like saying the Spurs hitting on 2nd rounder after 2nd rounder do it purely on luck.

They hit on a vet minimum player, we didn't. If that can't be held against Griffin, then he should never get credit for any vet minimum players that do work out in our favor, right?

I just don't recall anyone beating the drum to make McGee a target. All I ever recall anyone saying about him was that he was stupid, bad locker room guy, stay clear. Instead Griffin went after Anderson hoping he could give us something along the lines of RJ only in a big man.

When it comes to vet minimum signings you win some, you lose some. I always prefer taking the flyer on younger more athletic players but for whatever reason Griffin chose the older vet types, I assume because he doesn't want locker room problems. But Sanders was a departure from that as a last resort.

If Bogut didn't get hurt this would be a moot point.

The Pacers sure showed us...

What kind of lame retort is this? Paul George was on the other side of that sweep as well...wouldn't take him either?

I just want to know why you are so sure Lance was willing to take a minimum deal for the rest if the year when he signed for 4+million dollars a year? He took two ten days to get in shape/showcase himself. Then he took multiple weeks off until Indiana waived Stuckey to sign him after agreeing to a contract that seemingly came out of thin air(a contract that took more than a day to negotiate/put together).

My friend with the Knicks told me that they were rebuffed by Lance's people when they reached out about a minimum deal.

I don't think Lance was ever an option for more than a few ten days, we didn't have anymore than a couple hundred thousand to offer him.

Lance fucks up the flow of the game, imagine him doing that shit with the big 3 on the floor. I do like his emotion, but it hurts him probably more than it helps.

Yeah, his emotion also had him making a lot of mistakes down the stretch and acting a fool when things didn't go right. He'd be a poor locker room fit here and not a great on court fit either.

Good thing we don't have emotional guys throwing errant behind-the-back passes in crucial moments...

Give me a guy who can put up 20+ points in a closeout game over a guy who can't see the court any day, but keep beating the "Griffin is impervious to scrutiny/criticism" drum.

More than likely Stevenson would be waiving a towel here too with the way Deron is playing. Also, been said 20 times, he signed with no one for the full year on a minimum. It appeared to me he was doing 10 day contracts to gain exposure for a hopeful bigger payday. If Griff did offer, he probably also pushed for a team option for next season as well. Stevenson may have declined or is it plausible they looked at him, thought he was OK, but his crazy ass might not be best for team chemistry and moved on. I can't complain we ended up with DWill x 2 and Bogut on the buyout market.

Can Lance see the court? Cross-eyed as fuck.

Can't help but notice Lance has shot less than 31% for his career from three. He had some success as a defender and driving to the hole, when he is in shape. Again, not what the Cavs need as a compliment to the other players.
