DeMarcus Cousins-Kings drama

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I like Love, but it would take me one millisecond to trade him for Cousins if the Kings would do it.

LeBron at the 4 and Cousins at the 5? lol, gg.

And it comes with the added bonus of making keeping up with the Cavdashians even more entertaining. More drama!!! What can go wrong?!

Yeah, I'd do it too. I think LeBron could keep him in check.

A LeBron/Cousins frontcourt is stuff you dream about.

What is new with Demarcus?

I'd like to know too. On Twitter and Google I can't find anything new outside of what happened back when we played them. @RonG what happened?

Suspended by Sacramento (George Karl) for 1 game for conduct detrimental to the team. He already sat that game prior to game last night.

But he picked up his 14th technical in game he got into it with coaching staff, and it boiled over to the suspension.

It's the same thing on a consistent basic with DeMarcus. He's unreliable on the court, he is a ticking time bomb, and has an awful reputation among players and referees alike. If he ever got his head on straight he'd be an MVP caliber player, but he's unstable.

Cousins is a perfect match with the Cavalier's non-standard AAU style dysfunction. If the inmates already run the asylum, bring in the most talented bat shit crazy inmates.

I've soured on Cousins again. This is now the umpteenth coach in a row he's had problems with. At some point, it's not the coach. It's all him.

Sacramento Kings star DeMarcus Cousins returned to the team's lineup Sunday after serving a one-game suspension for "conduct detrimental to the team," but Cousins said it wasn't the team that was behind his benching.

"That was no suspension from the organization. That was one from the head coach. There's a difference," Cousins said following Sunday's 108-99 home loss to Utah. "There's been so much extra stuff this season. Extra, unnecessary stuff. There are a lot of battles between guys that should be on your side. I would say that this [loss] is one of the most frustrating ones."

Cousins' suspension on Friday was discipline for directing a tirade at head coach George Karl during a timeout in Wednesday's home loss to Cleveland.

Karl, for his part, thinks he personally has handled things well with the franchise cornerstone, but acknowledged he and Cousins still have issues to work through.

"In general I think, professionally, I've done my job," Karl said before Sunday's game. "There will be an opportunity to talk with Cousins. We've exchanged pleasantries, but nothing in depth. I am not going to communicate how we evolve in this. The best thing for everybody, for Cousins, for me, the team, is to get a win."

The Kings (25-40) are mired in a five-game losing streak and have lost nine of their past 10 games. They next play Tuesday night on the road against the Los Angeles Lakers, beginning a stretch in which five of their next six games are on the road.

Turnarounds happened with Sheed and Z-Bo, so there's always a chance. The question is whether you want a piss away what you have in Love for the possibility of something even better with Cousins.

Something to ask after the playoffs, I think.

Edit: The good news is, Sacramento has predictably gone down the shitter. I recall a collection of us discussing Cousins around the deadline, but the Kings were playing too well at the moment for anything to happen then.

So with the Kings losing it and Cousins doing stupid shit, he definitely could be available this Summer. Especially since he will be a Free Agent in 2018.

Now lets see how Love/the Cavs perform in the playoffs.

Here's the thread where it was (rather heavily) discussed:

I would Love Cousins on this team. But he is bat shit nuts. I think it really depends on how the Cavs do in the playoffs. If they look like they're not on the same planet as a GS. Then what the hell?

It does have potential disaster written all though. Because this guy is trouble. But so damn talented. I think it really depends on how we do..

I'm only willing to take such a drastic/desperate approach if it looks like we really aren't that close to winning a title anyways.

The guy seemed to love Malone, and they played well under him last year (only hitting the skids when DeMarcus missed a few weeks early). Sacramento responded by firing Malone mid-season.

DeMarcus has reverted back to being a nightmare ever since.

Seeing as how I still can't figure out how Malone was fired mid-season, and George Karl wanted to trade the guy immediately, I'm still putting this on the Kings.

Karl does have a long history of driving a wedge between his star players, too. Sure, some of them aren't the best sources either.

There's no denying Cousins has problems though. Anyone could see this marriage ending in about 5 minutes once he got the job.

Cousins is so talented. You can never just say "no" automatically when it comes to acquiring him. It's something you think long and hard about after the season. Depending on how well we do.

This team is likely going to have to make a drastic change if it doesn't go well. I don't see anyone more talented than Cousins that we could possibly land too.

Make no mistake: There are two ownership groups who are killing their franchises, and they are Sacramento and Philadelphia. Malone was fired because the owner wanted to go uptempo. He read a few spreadsheets on uptempo teams and thought the Kings would winore games while selling more tickets.

I just shake my head. They didn't have the kind of personnel for uptempo. You build around your star, and if it's a big man who scores, you keep the tempo slow. Then, they managed to move away from Isaiah Thomas, who was their best uptempo player. The result is mind-boggling incompetence from the very top.

Oh, I totally agree. If we win the title or even if we play really well with a healthy Love and Kyrie then it doesn't make a lot of sense to explore that trade.
