DeMarcus Cousins-Kings drama

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Make no mistake: There are two ownership groups who are killing their franchises, and they are Sacramento and Philadelphia. Malone was fired because the owner wanted to go uptempo. He read a few spreadsheets on uptempo teams and thought the Kings would winore games while selling more tickets.

I just shake my head. They didn't have the kind of personnel for uptempo. You build around your star, and if it's a big man who scores, you keep the tempo slow. Then, they managed to move away from Isaiah Thomas, who was their best uptempo player. The result is mind-boggling incompetence from the very top.

Please...you're telling me I should believe that the owner in Sacto, who forced his GM into drafting Nik Stauskas, is killing his franchise? I don't believe you Keys...

I actually think Lue would be good for Cousins.

I actually think Lue would be good for Cousins.

Is this sarcasm? We've had near mutiny on his clock since he's taken over the job.

Whether fair or foul, Lue has yet to show he can provide a stable and healthy environment at all.

To those that are sour on Cousins cause of his attitude.

Remember the success Charles Barkley had in the NBA despite all his technical fouls, Rasheed Wallace also comes to mind. I remember people comparing the guy to Derrick Coleman, I think he's surpassed that guy's talent level at this point both offensively and defensively. Kobe Bryant got 5 Rings despite his attitude. He needs the right environment to succeed and he will because of his talents. Perhaps that isn't Sacramento, but somewhere like Cleveland with a Lebron to talk to him? He's not a nutcase off the court, he does all the right things.

He's passionate about the game, perhaps to a fault, but that's where you surround him with people to reel him in.

Can't really compare the two since Miami is a stable, winning organization and Sacramento is not.

Still is staggering.

Wade seems like a random mention. Why not Duncan who's played his whole career under one coach?

I don't care about the Techs I care about his lack of ownership. Blaming a coach for being suspended he still missed the point altogether,

Accidentally posted this in the Around the NBA thread. Re-posting here:

Cousins is by far the best center in the NBA, and Sacramento is wasting his talent by hiring one incompetent coach after another. Paul Westphal was one of the dumbest coaches I've ever seen in action. Keith Smart wasn't much better. Corbyn was a disaster. Malone was the only decent coach, but I think even he is overrated by most Kings fans, because he is the only not-completely terrible coach they have had. I think Karl is doing a decent job with their offense, but their defense has to be one of the most atrocious I have ever seen from an NBA team. They just switch on everything all the time, giving the opposing team any mismatch they desire. They don't try to get through even the softest most half-assed screens. They actually have decent talent around Cousins now, for the first time in his career, but they need to get a coach who will sort out their defense really badly. Unfortunately for them, they will likely lose Rondo in the offseason, and Sac isn't exactly a prime destination for free agents, especially now that everyone will have tons of cap space. This summer they really need to find a good coach, do whatever they can to keep Rondo or grossly overpay a decent PG, and get some players who can defend. If they don't make the playoffs next year, they will lose Cousins and go into another rebuild without having made the playoffs for 11 years.

Or we'll take a Boston Package and love it. ;) If he is traded.

Yeah, if Boston offers part of their war chest of picks, we can't beat that. Unfortunately.

I'd take him, but then I remember only Lebron and Delly can make a pass into the post on this team, so why would he be happy here getting ignored 1/2 to 3/4s the game?
