Denzel Ward

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Weight isn’t the reason he’s getting concussed. He’s fine at 190 just needs to work on his form.
Form, the way he tackles, the way he positions his head during those tackles.. Whatever the case may be, Ward has me on pins and needles.

He's probably my favorite Browns player on defense. Maybe overall after OBJ and Baker Mayfield. So watching him play is truly a blessing in itself. But yeah, he's got me so nervous for the upcoming season. I have so much confidence in his ability, he can be the best cornerback the league has to offer, honestly. But he's just gotta remain healthy, especially with his head. Anymore head injuries.. We are in the danger zone there.

I think Dorsey and company feel good about corner right now, with a healthy Ward leading the way. He didn't really add anyone there yet, and during the draft I'm just gonna assume he goes safety if we don't add one before draft day.

Would definitely love to add another good corner next to Ward. But until then, I was impressed with Mitchell and Carrie last season. I'm OK with those two holding down the No.2 spot until Dorsey can find another player that can ball there.

I thought the most impressive thing is that Ward continued to improve throughout the season. His biggest weakness coming out of OSU was his short-yardage passing coverage. He got torched in the first few weeks on short passes. But by the halfway point, Ward learned how to rely on his safeties and linebackers, resulting in better coverage during those situations.

If he can stay healthy then it is very possible that Ward becomes a top-5 NFL cornerback. Hell, he was a pro-bowler for a reason.

Isn't someone supposed to say the best ability is availability?

When healthy he is a top 5 NFL corner NOW.

Kareem Hunt and the 2019 Cleveland Browns thread would like a word with you...

I am not sure I say Hunt is a top 5 Back nor is Chubb, both might be top 10 though, I would have to think about it.

Gurley, Zeke, Barkley and Bell are top 4 in some order, Now Bell being out a year is a question mark, but Kamara, McCaffery, for sure are the next 2.

I know wrong thread, but it was a stupid argument I didn't want to enter. Both are very good backs, its a strength of the team when Hunt is off forced vacation.

Yep. And despite those early struggles with short passes...

I am just scared of the concussion issues at the end of the day. But for once we really have a team so I hope he stays away from that issue going forward!

Maybe he should wear 2 helmets this year.
