In the coming weeks, look for JR Smith to move to the bench with Calderon. IT creates enough gravitational pull to go ahead and start Wade.

Now you can run JR Smith in the second unit and create some spacing for Rose. You can't run Rose with Wade for obvious offensive reasons.

I'm in agreement that Rose should at least get another look when he's ready. Would like to see what he can do with JR, Korver, Green, and TT/Frye. But mostly Frye over TT.

Keeping Wade fresh for the playoffs should be one of Lue's key goals this season. Wade, with his leadership qualities, clutchness and experience could be huge at that point.

If all Rose contributes is allowing that to occur then he has been worth the hassle.

Cedi Osman would be the better choice for taking Wades minutes in off games to give him rest.

Especially now that IT is back and we have an extra playmaker when LBJ rests.

Also, Cedi actually has a chance to contribute in the playoffs as an extra 3/D wing player should we have injury troubles.

I like Cedi but with everyone back he might be struggling to get minutes. Would be a mistake for me, his energy and nose for the ball always makes a positive impression but someone is going to miss out.

I think most would agree with this.. but we all know Lue loves his vets.. I wish Cedi could get more mins but sadly I don’t think anything will change what he’s got going now with his couple mins here and there a game and then garbage time.

Not sure where Rose is at present, but I hope it works out better than when we had Deron Williams. Rose will want to get another contract, assuming he doesn't flame out (Deron isn't even playing basketball anywhere, just sitting his ass in Dallas). We have to give him a chance, IMO. The stretch he played... everyone looked horrible and out of place. He will probably need to be healthy to stick the rest of the year.

Now JR, on the other hand... I feel he's a little flaky. When he's clicking... lightning in a bottle. But awful, uninspiring when he's not. How will Coach Lue be justified playing him under pressure-filled moments when there's possibly 2 or more guys that come be next up? I'll give J.R. a pass for last season, but he's being paid a lot of money because of his contributions to the '16 NBA Title. He's a shooter who brings effort on D, but he shouldn't start pouting if/when he comes off the bench (like he did with pre-season Wade)...

Hard to believe these two were borderline all-stars a few years ago... but it speaks numbers to the other guys we have playing at their positions (Wade, IT, Korver, etc.).

Why is there all this activity in the Rose thread? Guys, it’s not even a sure thing he even plays another game for us.

His “absence” from the team last month really made him lose the trust of his teammates. I’m not sure they even want him back.

Good news...with him, you can start to think to move Wade as a starter. Rose and Wade can't play together in the 2nd unit.

Why root against Derrick?

If coached well enough and put in a good situation maybe just maybe he can be formidable in limited action which would be 20-24 minutes. That guy that torched Wall for 20 in a half is still around.

Let's see him play with strictly shooters and not Wade because that was bad.

Rose being valuable will only help the team and mostly Wade.

I'd personally want to see how he plays with IT. Having multiple lineups that don't rely on LeBron will only help us when the playoffs come around. I actually think Rose will have an easier time now than in the beginning of the season. Everyone is more comfortable with each other and roles have been carved out now.

Lue isn’t changing things. He will keep running out the failed lineups until someone gets hurt and he’s forced to play a lineup that works. Like how he’s forced TT into the second unit and benching frye despite how successful that unit was with frye.
