Derrick Rose: Outta Here!

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Lue isn’t changing things. He will keep running out the failed lineups until someone gets hurt and he’s forced to play a lineup that works. Like how he’s forced TT into the second unit and benching frye despite how successful that unit was with frye.

I think Frye fucked Lues old lady, mom, or something because he always gets the short end of the stick

I really don't understand the hating against Rose...I mean if he was here for being a starter I could agree but he will just start off the bench and I'm totally convinced that he can be a great card to play for us.

For sure Lue has to change something because you can't have a 2nd unit with Rose-Wade-Green-Thompson, but if he makes the right moves we can do a big step.
Wade plays on the bench. They can't play together. I'd play Rose on games Wade takes off.

14 pts in 26 mins on 51% from 2 and 90% from the line. If we are going to point out the negatives we should also show the positives or take it all with a grain of salt considering he only played 7 games
Our defense was all time bad though and he took opportunities away from more efficient offensive players.

Line-up should look like this now that we have IT back:

Starters: IT-Wade-LBJ-Love-Crowder

Bench: DRose-JR-Green-Korver-TT

When Shump gets back he can share minutes with JR. This is provided no one is traded. This helps with the spacing issue in the second unit since Lue refuses to play Frye.

JR needs to continue to start. Unless you want the ball in his hands more. That’s likely to happen if he’s playing without LeBron and IT. We need to actually get him some open shots off of dribble penetration. That used to happen a lot when Kyrie was here.

Starting:
IT
JR
LeBron
Crowder
Love

Bench:
Jose (not banking on Rose’s health)
Wade
Korver
Green
TT/Frye

I think so too. If he can just catch and shoot and play D I think it will be ok.

Hmm. I think Calderon has been a good deal better on D than people made him out to be.
Other than in isolation against the elite PGs he's been really damn good. He's got length so he's been randomly decent at contesting with verticality at the rim. It's so weird but I've never seen anyone finish body to body over him even on fast breaks. He's got a little Danny Green in him where he over performs relative to his athleticism.

Way better bench guy than Rose. And he's knock down from 3.

I will disagree with the notion that JR needs to start. He’s always been very streaky with expectations that he’ll show up more frequently than he does now. His defense has also declined. Having Wade in the starting lineup is a much more solid lineup than having JR.

As long as Rose is leading the second unit JR should be with them. It opens up the floor for Rose. I’m also thinking about playoff lineups.

In terms of balance I agree with keeping Wade and Rose separated. Starting Wade alongside IT would give us a lethal starting unit. However it does hurt the bench as JR is unreliable everywhere, Rose isn’t a floor general and has questionable impact on the rest of the 4 guys on the floor with him. Pair that with TT and it’s a disaster even with the reliable Green/Korver combo.

TT should just be an emergency big, he’s the culprit for most of our struggles on offense and isn’t impactful enough to make it up on defense. Lue has either not paid attention to Frye’s play this year or thinks TT will magically be a good player again after being subpar for 1.5 years. If the predictable lob play fails then it’s 4 on 5 for us on that end until the shotclock expires.

I know the statistics scream that Rose doesn't belong on this team, but I just feel like there's a place for him.

His automatic star power aside, Rose is one of the few guards on this team that can create his own instant offense when required. Does his defense leave an incredible deal to be desired? Does the chemistry appear to evaporate when he shares the court with 4 other Cavaliers?

Apparently so.

But this doesn't mean Lue can't work on a line-up that integrates the need for Rose's scoring punch. After all, what is a coach for? If you can't facilitate a guy like D Rose as a 10-15 minute weapon off the bench, what are you really being paid for?

Rose's contribution to this team depends greatly on the coaching staff and their ability to implement Rose into environments that are conducive to both his and the team's success.

I'd play Rose and maybe it'll work out. My biggest concern with him is durability. Our biggest issues are JR and TT being no shows 9 of 10 games. Maybe Rose will give some effort on defense as half of that is just trying harder anyhow.

I just hope this is roses last chance with us. If he gets hurt again we just need to cut our losses. He can’t be trusted to be healthy in the playoffs. Cut him and get someone on a buyout.

I'd rather play Calderon honestly. He's better for spacing, he's better at running a team, and he doesn't care if he takes 0-2 shots per game.

Rose can't shoot, is a bit better on defense, and had an assist rate of 10.4% when he was on the floor, far and away the worst he's ever done.

Just for comparison:
- LeBron: 45.5%
- Wade: 24.9%
- Calderon: 16.3%
- K-Love: 10.1%

Rose's playmaking was about on part with our center. That's not what we need out of him on this team. He's got to be moving the ball, because there will never, ever, be a time where he is a top-2 scoring threat on the floor unless it's garbage time. It's not the Rose show anymore. He's extremely washed up from what he used to be but I don't think he can comprehend that and adjust in a way that Wade has.

I'd really just like to trade him while he's apparently healthy and get the headache out of here. He'll last another 5-7 games max before he's gone for another month.

Run Calderon/Wade off the bench and start IT/JR.

Finally he should be back. I really hope in this guy, he can be a great fit for us. Lue has to put all the pieces in the right position, we can still be competitive.

If, I think it's a certainity the over/under is 2.5 games.
