Diet and Workout Routines

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Diet has been so damn clean the last week. Finally got myself to get to the gym.

Have been doing strictly cardio though, I really am not all that great with form when lifting. Don’t really know where to start. Want to cut about 10 pounds and add a little definition.

Any suggestions for a guy who never really lifted much? Only for a short stretch about 6 years ago.
On form ? Or what specifically?

If it's form maybe you could actually benefit from a meet with a personal trainer. They do one free often

Pretty much form.

Planning on alternating free weights with heavy cardio days.

You can see some benefit for now with that plan because you're new, but it's better to commit to either cutting or bulking typically.

Well I want to cut before I bulk.

I thought alternating weight training + HIIT with heavy cardio days on rest days was best for cuts.

Was in Cleveland last week. Man the metro parks never get old. Got lost in there and ended up on an 87 minute run so prob about 9.5 Miles.

If you’re a runner, I highly recommend Audible. It’s so easy to get lost in a book while running distance...

I can almost certainly run a 6 min mile. I want to do it on a track... I just did a 22 min 3 mile pretty easily.

All that said, I am just starting a bulking phase. I don’t lift heavy bc worried about getting hurt but wow i balloon up in a hurry. I am looking to incorporate lower an workouts that don’t activate my hip flexors if anyone has any suggestions.

Crazy the bodyt adapts. I was stuck at maintenance calories for a month and finally broke under. Now I have to binge for a couple hours just to hit 1600 calories.

I'm big and slow. It really is not an athletic body conducive to any sport. Im starting to focus on core so I can throw harder and be more agile.

Planning on running in the Ohio State 4 miler this October.

Finally fully-healthy injury wise for the first time in a long time, but I haven't ran more than a mile at once since high school track which was four years ago. Need to start training so I don't die about halfway through the race. :chuckle:

I've been at an 800 calorie deficit for more than a week and the scale hasn't moved.

Is possible im recomping but I wouldn't put money on it

Feels bad man

The biggest part of training, IMO, especially for your situation, is consistency of action.
So PLAN on doing something 6 days/week and make that something small. End the workouts yearning for more, thirsty for tomorrow. Don’t be a hero. Remember, it’s not where you are compared to people in this thread or people who you see running w water bottles on their hips. It’s you versus you.

Plan when to workout. Everyday during the week, one day off either sat or sun.

Warm up a little. Don’t stretch, but get the body moving.

Add some variety:
For long distance days, do LSD: long slow distance. Just keep those feet chopping.
Other days run something hilly. Or at least something non-flat.
Try running days where you alternate fast running with recovery. Like 30 second bursts of speed, then 90 seconds of keeping the feet chopping super slow jog.
Try a day of light lifting or if no access to weights, do body weight exercises.

When done, have a good stretch and hopefully you can pack a shaker w a protein shake or Amino Acid blend (both are good for recovery).

Really difficult keeping energy up on a cut. Really hard.

I'm down to 13% which I'm happy with. My weight isn't changing much but that's almost surely because I'm injecting cow steroids into my butt cheeks every other day and finally paying attention to leg day and core.

I'm sore fucking everywhere.

An old buddy I grew up with talked me into a 12K last December. I've been training ever since, but had to take the past five weeks off to finalize some post graduate work. I'm a week back into it and can handle a four miler like it's nothing. Race is Sunday.

BTW, last I heard from him he didn't train at all, all excuses and has been complaining about charlie horses. This was all your idea, bro! WTF?

This diet is going so well I might fuck it up out of boredom.

Don't start eating till 11am, then it's a bag of carrots.

Every 100 calories buys an hour of time. Do not stray from this.

Waist is at 33.25. Bodyfat at 12%. Weight isn't changing which is fucking nuts. 188 or do with 1.75 vials of tren left and another few weeks of npp after that for a clean bulk.

I may just end up at like 195 and 10% at the end of this thing. That would be the best I've ever been.

Decided to start Keto the day after Memorial Day. Will do it for a month as sort of an experiment to see what happens. Definitely not going to be the cleanest diet (hot dogs and pepperoni will be a lazy alternative), but it'll still keep me in ketosis. Baby steps.

Unfortunately (or fortunately), I've got multiple social events in June, so I'll need to plan accordingly for those. Thats the one thing that kind of sucks about it. It takes ~ a week to get into ketosis, so you can't really have a cheat day and just immediately go back to business as normal.

I am so tired of not eating. I am nowhere near where I want And I realize that I look good. The better you get the further away your goal gets. I would be happy after 7 more pounds and gaining ten

Toying with the idea of going keto. I don't really like a lot of carbs anyways. The hardest thing to give up would be some fruits, to be honest. I am diabetic though. Have to research it more.
