Dion Waiters

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
It took him 16 games, but by golly, he shot over 50%. :chuckle:

I love Dion, maybe not as much as tornicade, but my heart has a soft spot for him. This was definitely one of his better games. No Dragic and he got to run the offense. There are worse players that a team could run an offense through. 8 straight double digit scoring games. He's finding a groove in Miami. We'll see how long he can keep it up.

Waders is really talented but just incredibly stupid.

Look at that, I think the FO picked him 4th in the draft after watching his highlights, He looks extremely good on highlights and we all know they never brought him for an interview and practice.

That wasn't just a good game by Dion, it was nearly a career game. His game score of 21.8 was the 4th best of his career and his best since the meaningless last game of the 2014-15 season

When desperate or when sat long enough, Dion has been forced to play better in order to be rewarded in the future. He first learned this under Boeheim when he was not only benched most of his first year, but also told to play within himself off the bench (6th man) or don't play at all. So his sophomore numbers looked good from advanced statistics. And passed the test from Hollinger's old ratings for players coming out of college. And was rewarded by getting promises from other teams (Suns, maybe?) to be drafted with their first pick. Chris Grant and Byron Scott liked what they saw (from the limited amount of footage) from Waiters, so they drafted him 4th.

But after a turbulent 2 and a half years, we know Dion isn't a smart basketball player, but has had some good moments in the league (but few and far in-between). In his second year, he had that memorable run off the bench in March-April of 2014. He also had the buzzer beater vs Detroit. These types of moments are the ones teams usually look for a guy like Dion. Kinda like what he's been doing now (maybe?)?

And there's been multiple times this has happened. History has a bad way of repeating itself, but as Dion shows flashes when he needs to (in order to play in this league)... he may be able to have a lengthy career, at least until his athleticism starts to fade...

Will never forget that @Maximus called this pick months before the draft.

Fuck him and fuck Dion Waiters.
