What unnecessary regulations did he overrule? The Endangered Species Act? Carbon Tax that encourages the business to move to China?

Time to have others step or leave NATO. Maybe then we can have free stuff.

I thought his point this morning, on Germany asking us to protect them from Russia while buying their power from Russia, was rather salient.

Maybe 20-30% of our military budget goes toward NATO related things.

If NATO (excluding the US) was a country it would have the second highest military budget in the solar system.

And most of our bases are in NATO countries. I mean we use NATO for war more than the Europeans do. No wonder we spend the most money on it. I was surprised we don't have the greatest proportion of soldiers.

Do we actually want to pull back our interventionism or not though? I have seen no sign of that.

1500 dead in the Iraq and Afghan conflicts.

Wars the other NATO nations most certainly didn't have to participate in once AQ was defeated. That any NATO nation supported us when he invaded Iraq is mind-boggling considering how much it was against their own self-interest. Non-US NATO casualties amounts to over 35% of the total even though they contribute 15-20% of the total troop strength in Afghanistan. NATO participation was essential in keeping the US from having to garrison the entirety of Afghanistan and saved us about $55 billion in costs. They deployed troops even at the cost of weakening defense at home. They have spilt blood with us and it is beyond insulting how Trump acts and behaves toward nations whose sole reason for sending troops was to be a good ally.

Are they understrength and allowed the Russians and the Post-Cold War mirage hoodwink them until Crimea? Yes. Do they need to increase readiness and spending? Yes. And they are. Are they ungrateful wretches who haven't carried their weight? Fuck no.

We should. Both the Democrats and Republicans need to dial down the interventions and end the wars we have going on.

That system is literally the exact opposite of open borders. If you have to go through a checkpoint and get your ID verified, it's not open borders, plain and simple.

When I took trains through Europe, that was open borders. I went from Belgium to Amsterdam without a single ID check. Same from Berlin to Prague.
