Dream Team 4: Golden State Warriors

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Out of all the teams Warriors could face in the 1st round, who do y'all reckon has the best chance to knock Warriors out?

Unless Durant plays like utter shit, none of them, but I think the Jazz, Minny, and Denver all could have given them problems. OKC, if PG gets hot again and Melo can make anything, would have been really difficult. Denver (with Harris back) and Minny are both top 5 offensive teams and are actually elite at something. Both Denver and Minny are difficult to contain defensively and could make things close as you can double KD and trap him and rotate to Klay and let Draymond/Iggy try his luck with threes. On top of it all, even with Curry, the death lineup hasn’t been the same this at only +5.2 per 100 and that’s with a big push over the last 10 or 12 games Curry played.

Both Denver and Minny suck defensively, though. Utah has an elite defense and a good offense when it plays small. Rubio over the last 20 games has turned into a shooter though it remains to be seen if he can continue it. Jazz play with a lot of energy, can rebound, can shoot now (if Rubio continues to hit), and have a top flight coach in Synder.

The easiest team for them is San Antonio sans Kawhi. Then it’s the Pelicans. The Pelicans really aren’t great at anything, but do have a good offense IF Mirotic is hitting threes and they’re at least middling defensively but AD will have to play a top 10 series all-time to give them any hope of even making it competitive.

ESPN reports Durant will opt-out and become an UFA this summer.

So he can take another pay-cut....

So if I read it right, only 3 teams can end up 7th. San Antonio, Denver, and Minnesota.

The simple one is Denver. If they win, they're 7th. That's the one Ill be rooting for.

It was the Jazz, but that's out the window now. I'm now hoping for a Denver win.

Denver for me, as well.

Warriors can't handle Jokic down low. And if they double him, Jokic will kill them with his passing. They have enough shooters in Murray, Harris, Barton etc to hit the 3s and rekt Warriors.

Also, defensively, in Gary Harris, they have a very good defender who negate Klay. And even though no one can stop KD, Wilson Chandler and Paul Millsap have the length and defensive nous to make it tough for KD.

And last but not the least, playing matches in Denver isn't usually easy.

I for one am very surprised that the Warriors ended up with the Spurs in round 1! It is very unlike them to catch a break!
Not only did they get an injured Spurs team but they managed to get New Orleans or Portland in the semis... All the while the 2 teams that could knock them out will be battling it out in the semis..

That is of course if the Thunder make it past the Jazz ?? Obviously it’s all about matchups and the Thunder matchup well with the Warriors and have an inside advantage... The Jazz are different..

Life is tough for a Warriors fan, that’s for sure!

So the Warriors get....

Spurs without Kawhi.

Likely the Pelicans without Cousins.

Rockets without their best wing defender in Luc Mbah a Moute unless he can come back. But I bet they get another injury to make the Warriors path easy. 2015 all over again....

yup. the west is so tough right, but they always manage to draw the weakest teams. it's incredible. 1 tough western opponent in this entire run. the "west is a gauntlet" narrative is so overrated

Since Pop's wife died today, I imagine the spurs will be winning one for her tomorrow.
