I mean that should definitely get it done, value wise. There’s no way the Pacers or Bulls can get a better package than that.

Maybe. Bradley has a year left on his deal and then gets paid a ton, so a lot depends on your view of him. He's a good player who does things lots of players don't do. But if youre in a rebuilding position do you wanna pay him 20 million?

As for Smart, Im just not a believer. He's Tony Allen. Useful, will last, but a fringe starter due to his lack of offensive skill. And you never know what type of offer sheet some stupid team might sign him to.

Fuck Bill Simmons.

I'm convinced HE broke the Cleveland jinx. He wrote that pre-draft "karma column" where he declared the Cavaliers were the LEAST deserving team to win the 2014 Lottery and the Celtics were the MOST. When we won the lottery he whined like a bitch on the air. He's a typical Boston fan who thinks that city deserves to win all the time.

I think I am wrong. I don't believe he tweeted it but he did say it on radio or tv.

He said this? Why?

On what planet was there any reason to believe the Cavs would win that game by any less than 10 points, much less lose it?

The Cavs literally have nothing to do all series but aggressively trap the smallest player in the NBA and use their abundance of talent to outscore them in bunches.

They will beat the shit out of the Celtics all series and were never going to lose a game for which they were incredibly rested and the Celtics absolutely weren't.

Of course Dana White is from Boston. He's a classic Masshole.

Because LeBron teams usually lose any first game on the road as he was until tonight 2-10 so I hope that is what he was getting at.

Didn't know that.

I'd imagine, without researching, that most road games have been against games that they were true underdogs against.

Such as San Antonio, Warriors, Celtics, Magic, etc. Teams they didn't have obvious answers for and in a time before he went into chill mode during the regular season and risked losing home court advantage to lesser teams.

Dumb prediction.

Eh...I saw this series going one of two ways.

Either the Cavs sweep or the Cavs lose game won, we get the yearly "is LeBron done" narrative out of the way while the media blows the Celtics for two days, and then the Cavs proceed to win four straight and close out the series.

I don't think it was outlandish to think that a team coming off of ten days rest might lose a game to a team that just won a hard-fought series and was ready to play. I don't think Boston would have won more than that one game, though. It was either a game one upset or a sweep. I wouldn't have been remotely concerned if the Cavs had lost tonight, though.

Loved the intensity from the tip by this team. They were scrappy and hustling out there and everyone was locked in. Of course, James is James but my unsung heroes of the night were Love and TT. Both had a career high in points and Love grabbed 12 boards to boot. Great defensive intensity as well as they forced 14 Boston turnovers and I loved the defensive coverage on Thomas who wasn't even Boston's leading scorer and went 7-19 from the field.

Win Friday and put a stranglehold on this team. Sure, Boston lost the first 2 at home in their first round matchup but they haven't played this quality of an opponent.

I missed the game - it started at 12:30PM today and I went for a 2 hour bike ride at lunch time (trying to lose weight)

I thought the game was at 2:30 PM

Ugh.

I take it Lebron looked good?

I checked the box score, so many fouls called on Boston - twice as many FTs for the Cavs - were they (the 'tics) just totally overmatched so they had to hack away?

The cavs lived in the paint, attacked relentlessly until the 3rd. Boston refused to help on LeBron and kept switching bigs on him. So LeBron basically had a one man layup line in the first half. Went back to it a bit on the 4th. They also employed hack a TT a bit.

I can't remember if the stat was about LeBron, or LeBron with the Cavs, specifically. Since the return, we've lost the the Warriors twice in Game 1 (fucked in the ass once), and we beat the Hawks. Before he left, we lost Game 1 to the Celtics in 2008, and to the Pistons and Spurs in 2007. We HAD no road Game 1's in 2009 or 2010, because we had the league's best record, and didn't make The Finals. So that puts him at 1-5. I would have to do some digging to find the other 5 losses.

What's his record in road Game 2's? I bet it's pretty good...

He lost game 1 to the spurs in the 2014 finals with the heat, lost game 1 in the 2006 pistons series, game 1 of the 2014 ECF vs Indiana, game 1 vs bulls in ECF 2011 and game 1 vs OKC in the 2012 finals.

Kyrie just wasn't needed offensively, Boston has Bradley on him which is not a favorable matchup compared to wide open Love or Lebron on a switch. They didn't even need to run plays out there. Sure they lost some focus being up 25 but it never got close. We didn't even use Frye who would be our counter to line ups with Zeller off the bench. Lebron as back in circa 2008 mode, just taking whoever was on him to the rim which we haven't really seen since the return. Horford and Olynyk got worked. One of the most fun games to watch in a while
