ECF | Game 3 | Boston (0-2) @ Cavs (2-0) | May 21, 2017 | 8:30pm EST

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Isaiah Thomas getting hurt might have been the best thing for Boston. IT is just not a playoff basketball player. His defense is such a liability, his offense stagnates them and Marcus Smart is an under rated player.

IT should be a spark off the bench, not your number one option in your starting line up.

The best thing for Boston was LeBron deciding he was only going to score 11 points tonight.

LeBron is like Andrew Miller. During the regular season, you use him "normally". During the playoffs, you run him as much as he can. Since he's a cyborg, thats 42+ a night.
Except the problem is we tried to use him like a cyborg in the regular season too :chuckle:

Eventually the gas runs out...

Despite what everyone was thinking...The Celtics are a very good team...maybe even better without IT...will the cavs win ,most likely but it was never going to be a cakewalk despite the 50 point win
Celtics are trash.

When LeBron said he spoils the fans. This is what he meant.

He put up one of the greatest finals runs ever. He's had one of the greatest playoff runs in a long time. One game he just DOESN'T HAVE IT while playing a boatload of mins.. The team still loses to a team missing their star player.

This is why you see Harden and John Wall fade down the stretch of games. This is why Curry/Durant try to get as much rest during the games. Its freaking hard to constantly carry the burden heavy mins every night. Some games you're just not going to have it every game with a day of rest in between.

If LeBron had played 36 mins the Cavs win. Of course Lue/LeBron are stuck on this heavy 3 Qrts pattern for whatever reason.

I know. And I knew this would be brought up. And I am totally fine with a bad game.

But this game (and Game 5) was him just not caring enough. I never get that. Why not care?

I have a different perspective on that game 5. That Celtics team was superior and LeBron looked clueless on how to beat them by himself.

This game was just a LeBron stinker in which he thought Kyrie/Love could carry him home. He thought wrong.

Cavs are playing 2k right now on rookie.

21-35 FGs 60%, 14-22 3Pt 63%, 10-13 FT, +11 REBs

Boston is 43% from the floor.

Scoring. At. Will.

Stopping. At. Will.

This was halftime. Wow. Who switched it to Hall of fame without Cavs looking?

Celtics are trash.

C'mon. They finished #1 in the east. If they are trash, what does it say about the other 14 teams in the east that finished behind them?

You know what? I typed up a long winded post and then I just erased it. I waxed poetically about what I thought happened and how I am feeling right now and then I realized no one is going to read that shit and I am taking this game way too seriously.

Losing sucks, we all know that. Losing in the postseason just magnifies that feeling of suck. Excuses will be made, what if LBJ didn't offensively struggle? What if the Celtics quit? What if the Cavaliers played with the same heart and hustle they showed up with for the first 2.5 games? It's simple. Cleveland got complacent and Boston played harder. I am not dissecting stats to show that because if you have eyes and they function properly who know how they lost. I am doing a sports media blackout until game 3 because I can already envision the hate spewed forth. It's okay for fans to show emotion and to make irrational statements but I find it unprofessional for people who get paid to do that. It's like eye/ear rape, yeah.

Shit happens. It did put a hamper on my evening and I am still mad as I type this at 3 am but I am sensitive and this is all I got going for me currently.

There is going to be more than enough to dissect even from just this site alone. Plus, what i am about to say is cliche and, truth be told, I am more of a pessimist than anything, but this loss and how they lost could be a blessing in disguise.

Hear me out, sure it would have been nice to have two undefeated teams meet in the finals but its not going to happen and just because this team lost 1 game I am not handing the Warriors anything.

It always sucks to blow a big lead, a big lead at home and in the playoffs to boot but still, there is that silver lining. I think this wakes up the team. I truly feel they were coasting and this might get them in a more focused mindset the rest of the way where as if the Warriors sweep the Spurs the only advantage is more rest and they can go on believing no one can beat them, until someone beats them. Look, this shit wasn't supposed to be easy. Winning is hard, you have to go through adversity to appreciate victory. I am by no means underplaying what the Boston Celtics did but I firmly believe this game is more on the Cavaliers than how their opponent played. If anything, Boston mucked up the game and started to chirp. Do you really think that is wise for them to do so? If this team beat you by 40 points and were coasting, you have no shot when they are focused. I think this game just did in the Celtics and I am sticking to that.

Long post over, I was watching Inside the NBA and they were already giving the Celtics way more praise than needed. Look, its a nice story for them to come in and win with a key guy out and how they came back down 20 but this doesn't change anything. Cleveland is still the better team and this is now over in 5 instead of 4.

This became a long post, fuck me.
