Farewell, Sasha Kaun (traded to Philly)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I wish him the best. I was a supporter from day 1. If he'd came to the league like 5 years ago he could've been a legitimate player.

I hope he surprises everyone and shines at Philly.

He'll be waived....but at least he can go home to Russia with the Ring!

He is married to an american former soccer player. His home is in the US.

I hope he will stay in the league :(

Just think.. We held onto this silent giant of an asset from the first LeBron era to now just to help us break the curse and win the championship.

That is incredible foresight.

Waiving him is huge. It gives us an extra, unwasted roster space.

PG: Kyrie, Mo, Felder
SG: JR, Shump, McRae
SF: LBJ, Dunleavy, JJ
PF: KLove, RJ
C: TT, Frye, Birdman

That gives us another spot that we can either use on another backup point guard, another wing, Quinn Cook, or not at all, at least for a little bit. Either way I'm totally fine with. Getting rid of Kaun was honestly awesome.

Best of luck to him, I read the The Bullshit Whisperer tweet that he was traded for some unknown before I scrolled down and saw the Bird news and I was like :conf (8):

Unless they waive Dahntay Jones, which I don't think is a certainty, the roster is at 15(inc LBJ/JR)

Now they wouldn't m think twice about waiving Dahntay for a player they really like, but how many of those players are out there right now?

I feel like they're more likely to keep Dahntay and IF a TPE trade opportunity arises mid season, he'd be the one to get waived.

The Mo situation will be interesting as well. They went back to him late in the playoffs. But then we hear from Windhorst/Lloyd that Mo's knees are in bad shape? Is that something that the offseason will take care of or are we going to find away to unload him and bring in someone like Sloan, Chalmers, or Cole?

I thought Dahntay was only on a deal for the rest of the season? Are you sure he's still on the roster?

The fuller description of the trade is: "the Cleveland Cavaliers traded center Sasha Kaun and cash considerations to the Philadelphia 76ers in exchange for the draft rights to Chukwudiebere Maduabum." Haven't seen how much cash the Cavs traded but it could be $1.33M (full Kaun salary).

They sent some some cash as part of the Dellavedova S&T, and can send out up to 3.6M during the 2016-2017 season.

Cavs also get a $1.33 million traded-player exception.
