Francona extended until 2022

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
What would a good offer be for Clev? Years an numbers?

Step 1. Lindor absolutely loves Tito...
Dolan’s quote on the day when they’re paying out 300 million dollar contracts is the day other teams are paying billion dollar contracts pretty much squashed the next to no hope I had for Lindor staying here longer.

He can love Tito, but is he really going to pass on a 300M+ contract in all sincerity?

He won’t. But I also think the figure gets there from the Indians at some point, regardless of what his dumbass self said in perhaps the worst PR week for an owner outside of being secretly taped saying something stupid as shit.

Like I’ve mentioned in a few places...there is some stuff that needs to fall into place prior to them having a legit chance. This is one of them.

Tito retiring or leaving in 2020 would have been a sizeable hit to their chances.

1) Still be a World Series contender in 2021, poised to continue being a WS contender every year afterwards for Frankie's contract
2) Keep things Frankie likes in place. Tito's one. Other players like Jose possibly?
3) Be close, money-wise to other offers on the table

#3 is going to be the hardest, but I really think the new TV deal in 2022 could be our ace in the hole to force Dolan's hand. A 300 million dollar contract is easier to digest if your TV deal's valuation could swing by 100-200 million dollars based off Lindor's presence.

I replied directly to him like 5 posts ago asking this. You're killing me, coach

I meant tag him and ask this question to him, since he is the one that may have some info on why he hasn't gotten one/when he could?

Any idea if they are working towards extending Clevinger? He and Bieber seem like the next logical targets.

Haven’t heard anything.

I know they’d like to, but they hold a lot of the chips with Clevinger so I don’t think it’s a priority, but that could change quickly. Been in wait and see mode with his health the last few years. But they usually move fast on arb covering extensions.

Tito is the best manager we could hope for. Glad he has no desire to be anywhere else.
