I don't see any way that Stephenson starts and Granger comes off the bench at the start of the season. Maybe that's worked out later on, but George will play the 2 from opening night like he has any other time Granger has been healthy. Their defense only gets better when George and Granger share the wings.

I disagree, I think Stephenson at the 2 and George at the 3 gives them a better defensive line up.

Granger didn't start any of the 5 games in which he played last year, so I'd be surprised if they threw him in the starting line up to begin the season.

I fully agree. And offensively, you would much rather have Granger as the main creator of the second unit than Stephenson who really struggles when he has to force offense.

Best, worst offseason moves in the East

1. What was the best move in the East this offseason?

Henry Abbott, ESPN.com: The Cavaliers deciding it was time to stop tanking! ( :chuckles: ) Jarrett Jack, Andrew Bynum, Earl Clark, Anthony Bennett ... even Sergey Karasev might help right away. Kyrie Irving was among the league's most dangerous weapons even before he got all this help. No East team did better, and if Bynum can play real minutes, this is a home run.

5. Who's the most intriguing new addition on an East team?

Gordon: Andrew Bynum. I want to see if he's got anything left in his knees for a Cavaliers team that could secure a legitimate playoff spot. I want to see if the Philly fans boo him so loudly he pops an eardrum. I want to see if his haircut goes in an even more dumbly awesome direction.

Schmidt: The crazy hair and knee injuries make it easy to forget that Bynum is legitimately the second- or third-best center in the NBA. It's a big if, but if Bynum and Kyrie Irving can stay on the court, the Cavs could do some really fun things next season.

I agree on Stephenson. I think he should start, if for no other reason than their starting 5 was, quite possibly, the best in the league last year. I wouldn't mess with that. Also, Stephenson needs to play with George, in my mind, to be effective on offense. W/o George, and next to people who can't create for either him or themselves, I think he becomes nothing but a negative on offense. And then you have the terror that those two can be on defense. Yea, wouldn't mess with it. Bring Granger off the bench with Watson and you've got a totally different looking team with two guys who can legitimately shoot 3s.
