Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'm not a Dolan hater by any stretch, but man, PD has a punchable face. Is he holding that bat so he doesn't get bum rushed by a pissed off Cleveland fan?

He's holding the bat because without it he looks like the pastor of your local church.

Pretty brutal article. I wonder which GMs they talked to?

"What have they won in Cleveland? Have they won a World Series since 1948?” asked one puzzled GM on Thursday. “Have they won anything since Shapiro and Chris Antonetti took over? No, they have never won anything in Cleveland and they will never win anything in Cleveland because they over value prospects in a very dramatic way.
“They are worse to deal with than the Los Angeles Dodgers when every minor leaguer was going to be the NL rookie of the year. Shapiro probably doesn’t like the fact that the Blue Jays went for it because they never go for it.”

What the hell doest that even mean?

He's referring to the deadline deals the Jays made to "go for it" last year. Saying Shapiro would have never authorized that had he been in charge at that point because in this source GMs opinion, the Indians drastically overvalue their own prospects

Just wondering, but I'm curious how that worked out for Toronto.

David Price could be a monster for them this year.

Dolan truthers

We don't need to block our younger guys, as we just gave a spot in the rotation to 31 year old Josh Tomlin.

Dolan's comments are fine, I'm just still mad about Tomlin.

Giving a rotation spot to a guy who earned it, how is this bad?

This isn't letting the young guy work it out and figure out what kind of pitcher he wants to be. Tomlin goes out and gets it done.

Only thing dumber than blocking your youngsters is throwing away cheap, effective ballplayers when you operate on a budget. Not giving Tomlin the opportunity after how well he did last year would be a fine example of that.
