GAME 30 Cavs (23-6) @ Pistons (14-18) Dec 26th 2016 7:30 ET

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
If we're not playing with LeBron we're screwed anyway. So I don't think we're in dire straights really.

Still would love to go Gay though.

Kyrie just isnt a leader. Pretty simple. He doesnt have what Lowry, CP3, Westbrook etc have...and thats the tenacity and leadership to rub off of teammates. Without Lebron Kyrie isnt winning games, plain and simple. And people say he's better than Lowry...smh

I get disappointment that Kylie and Love can't carry a bad roster once in a while, but I dunno. They aren't 1st option guys. This roster, minus LeBron and jr is bad. Thompson minus LeBron is an extremely average player. Then you've got big minutes to dunleavy, liggins, jefferson, felder. Guys, they wouldn't get minutes in Philly. There are rosters of bad teams they wouldn't even make. Like Denver, for instance. My real disappointment is that we are every bit as top heavy and lacking in depth as the warriors are and it shouldn't be so. Delly should still be on this team.

I think alot of it is due to the fact that the Cavs don't run set plays the majority of the time with LeBron. Windy said on his radio show that he thinks they don't run set plays 70℅ of the time.

I don't think Lue should mess with any of the real rotation players with installing an deeper offensive playbook/system but for the bench players that only come in for rest games and garbage time I don't think it will hurt anything. Make Felder, McRae, etc learn a deeper playbook even if it's just plays they steal from other teams when game planning during practice.

I would say I am disappointed, but I kind of expected this once I knew LBJ was out. I hate to even have that mentality, because this team is surely good enough to beat the Detroit Pistons without him.

What lost the game was not taking care of the ball (22 TOs) and not getting easy buckets (4 fastbreak points).

See, this is what i'm talking about. No offensive identity without LBJ, it's like they don't practice anything without him.
No defensive identity either, just ugly to watch if i'm completely honest.

Lowry runs with much better pieces than Kyrie had last night. Also coming off an incredibly emotion win only the day before makes it a bit unfair to judge after this game.

No way i'd give Kyrie for Lowry. Dude is as clutch as it gets and I figured he'd be a bit flat last night.

I understand all live sporting events and arenas manipulate audio to make it louder than it actually is but the Detroit feed last night was obvious. Any time they hit a big bucket, the audio for the telecast got noticeably louder, like they were trying to make it seem like more people were there than there was.

You know - our record is good enough for us to care about HCA in The Finals. Why don't we care? Sure would make our job a lot easier.

Lebron can't finish a game out, so Kyrie picks up the slack for him there.
Kyrie can't carry a team to the finish line, so Lebron carries the team all game until the last few minutes.
They're a perfect fit for one another. We just have to make sure they're both available in the playoffs and we're set. :)

Lebron can't finish a game out? When did this happen? Lebron carries games out just fine and ha been for his career. People do underestimate Lebron's skill because he plays so unorthodox, but he makes a huge difference to a roster.

I shook my head at all those people saying Kyrie should have been finals mvp. Then I shook it again when they said he was mvp of that Christmas day warrior game. People love to forget Lebron's impact. Remember where cavs were when Lebron was gone and Kyrie led this team with some decent talent.

Decent talent? Are you talking about Dion waiters or old Antown Jemison?

LeBron May Be The Most Clutch Playoff Shooter Of His Generation

paine-lebron-0511.png

Relative to the league-wide average, James generated 4.8 more total points than expected on his go-ahead shots, which translates to about one entire playoff win beyond what an average shooter would have contributed from the same field-goal distances. And those numbers become magnified when you consider that James’s average go-ahead shot came in a playoff game with championship implications 34 percent greater than the typical postseason contest. After we weight by the leverage of his specific game-winning shot attempts, James generated the equivalent3 of 8.5 more points than expected, or roughly two playoff wins above average, with his clutch end-of-game shooting alone.

(By contrast, Bryant generated 3.2 fewer points than expected and did it in games that were about 64 percent more important than the average playoff game, compounding the damage of his 1-for-10 performance.)

Nice stats there, I have to admit. But I was more referring to the shot that wins the game in the last minute.
