Game #36 Cleveland Cavaliers (24-11) @ Utah Jazz (15-21) Saturday December 30th, 2017 [8:00 PM EST]

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Nice inbounds play there. Schedule starting to toughen up and the Cavs are crumbling.

Has literally nothing to do with the schedule. We lost to the fucking Kings and a way sub .500 Utah team.

Cavs got sloppy and lazy on a western conference holiday road trip.

Sure it's annoying but ultimately changes nothing. There has been no grand "reveal" the last 3 games that is gonna send us into a second half of the season tail spin.

Just bad effort, bad defense, no respect for the basketball.

They don't practice "because they are the oldest team in the league" - maybe that should tell you something!!!!

The reveal is "not nearly good enough to win a title."

So again, the question is What is the Goal This Season.

If it's to win a title, a major trade has to be made.

Cavs should've just stayed home instead of going on this road trip.

Oh yes, they got a nice trip to Napa out of it.

That was the real road trip....

Just get tired of the whole team following LeBron's lead. When he plays with lack of urgency - the team follows. That is why I am hoping IT has seen enough of this and takes some control over this situation. I sincerely feel he will not lay down for a second, plus I don't feel he worships LeBron - the kid wants to win especially after being traded.

These West coast trips have always the been the bane of our existence I feel like. Never get up for any of the games besides GS.

We have literally no idea what this team looks like with IT. Not sure how two effort losses against bad teams without him on the floor reveals anything.

I disagree that it revealed anything new. Literally learned nothing about this team I didn't already know.

They're still heavy underdogs in a series against the Warriors without a trade, I'll give you that. But we knew that in September

Wonder if Jonathan Simmons would like to join us now and if he has had enough losing with the Magic.

After tonight we'll probably be 29th in defensive efficiency. 28th at the best.

That's all we need to know about it.

That stat is truly irrelevant given what we know and what has been proven about the effort issues in the regular season especially defensively. Like, the Cavs getting shredded when they don't try very hard means absolutely nothing in the long-run.

Can the Cavs play good enough defense when it matters. That's the question.

The answer is....yes. The "switch" does exist. They regularly flip it.

Now, can they flip a switch to stop Golden State? No. That doesn't exist. Golden State is quite literally the greatest NBA team of all time. They have 2 of the top 4 offensive players in the league. One of those guys has turned into an elite defender in the paint. They have a top 5 2 guard in the league who is also an elite defender. And one of the top 3 defenders in the league who can also pass, dribble, and shoot. And they have a swiss army knife 6th man who is one of the best perimeter defenders in the NBA as well. Like....fuck. The fuck can we really do? So there's no switch to flip there. The Cavs would have a low chance of beating a healthy Warriors team without a trade. I agree. I think the Cavs are going to definitely make a trade. I don't know if the player we need to change that reality is available though. We have to wait and see.

If you're in it for the late December wins against borderline playoff teams, you're following the wrong team.

These fuckers are like clockwork.
