Game #36 Cleveland Cavaliers at Phoenix Suns (1/8/16)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
PHX had some nice sets for Booker that relied on teams guarding the 3 point line aggressively. He ended up open under the basket. I wonder as teams adjust defensively to the increase in 3's if more of these types of actions will become common place.

Gah, I hate the annual opponent comeback when this team has a decent lead. I really wish they would pound teams and get it done and over with and rest the starters the rest of the game, but they tend to soften up when they think the game is over.

Hopefully I see a motivated and juiced up team with Korver out there on Tuesday.

a comeback happens every damn time... and Lebron and Irving have to play 40 minutes against the Suns.
Defense is the issue and the problem is not on the wings. There is just no resistence inside, no rim protection or intimidation whatsoever.
You can't hustle, trap, double team, recover for 82 games, you have to rest sometimes and have a 2nd line of defense.
Say what you want about not needing a rim protector but it just wears out the team by working so hard (or not working at all when they are understandably tired) trying to mask it.

Is Chandler's contract not guaranteed past this year or something, or what am I missing? He has two more years after this year at $13M+ per year. I don't think he's going to have the Suns buy him out just so he can come play for a championship. He already has a ring, so it's not like he's ringless and wants one before he retires.

I think Bogut is much more of a possibility. Last year of contract.

It's the entire team. They're just not taking defense seriously.

It's not that, they do take it seriously in the 1st half and then they just can't maintain it or they rather not in order to conserve energy and not be too fatigued for the rest of the upcoming shedule.
It's just not smart to exert so much energy night in and night out, especially if you know you have to stay healthy for the playoffs.
A rim protector can solve all of this but it's easier said than done.

Maybe but imo this game had a different feel than other games. Felt like both teams started treating it like a pick-up in the second half and gave the fans a show. It was fun.

That is the point,
