Game #42 -|- Cavaliers vs. Spurs -|- Jan. 21st, 2017 @ 8:30 PM EST

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Love has to make that shot or one of the other wide open ones he missed period! At first I thought Lebron should've gotten it to him earlier but there was only 0.6 left so he had to wait until love was behind the line and he took his sweet time getting there.

I really like love and think he's gotten a lot better but he still worries me against elite teams. I know he had the big stop last year but besides that he was pretty trash in the finals and against the Warriors in general.

Can anyone honestly say with a straight face they're confident in love hitting a wide open 3 to tie or win in the finals? I really dont and that worries me.

I just love how its assumed Kyrie will make every late game shot. As if he hasn't missed before as well.

Yea the kyrie would have never gotten injured if Kyrie took the shot to end regulation in 2015 is just one of the most absurdly illogical arguments. There is no guaruntee that Kyrie makes that shot. Nor do I think Kyrie should just automatically get every last shot. Matchups matter and LBJ is also capable of making a shot or pass to win the game.

Right now? no

If he gets his flow back that he had before the injuries and illness then by all means Yes!

This is a 100% knee-jerk reaction. Love has already proven he shows up when it matters. He has played in 24 playoff games with the Cavs and shot at a 41.7% clip from behind the arc.

In the Finals he shot 26% for 3 though and only had 8.5 pts on 36% shooting.

The Warriors are just always in my head when I think of hypothetical situations I'm usually always thinking in a Cavs vs Warriors context. If Cavs can't beat the Warriors there's no ring. Cavs won last year with Love playing like shit so he's the key to offsetting some of the impact of the KD acquisition. I think that's the only way to beat the stacked ass Warriors. Bron and Kyrie have to play similar to last year AND Love needs to sack up and play way better than last year.

LeBron should've given Kyrie the last shot and its probably over in regulation anyway, this shit cost us the 2015 finals with Kyrie getting hurt in OT....

Seeing this happen again although in a regular season game is still a little annoying, LeBron and Lue should know better by now, Give your closer the damn ball and let him go to work LeBron should never take last shot's if Kyrie is playing.
While I agree that Kyrie should have taken the last shot let's not pretend like LeBron isn't a great choice as well. He's also hit a game winner for us this year, a 3. Kyrie isn't the only closer. He has a history of hitting the shot just like Bron. Also, its silly to compare a regular season game to the finals.

Went to the game last night and had a ton of fun. Good atmosphere in there last night. Glad I didn't have to follow along at home with all you whiney fuckers.

Frye and RJ should never be on the floor at the same time. In fact, if RJ isn't willing to shoot the 3, he shouldn't be in the game at all. He has had one move for the last month. Get the ball at the 3 point line, fake a 3 and takes an uncontrolled dribble to the rim. Also, he can't pass to save his life. And the reason I think Frye and RJ are a bad combo is because defensive rebounding and the defensive effort is garbage. As much as RJ can get up in momentum changing moments, he can take away all the momentum during a run as well.

I'm assuming the "Kyrie should have taken the last shot in reg time" argument has been made earlier.

I mean, if you could choose ANY player in the league to take the last shot, who would you take over Kyrie?

If we would have just ran the set we ran to get Green on LeBron a few seconds earlier, he probably is able to take him to the basket for a layup attempt. I'm not sure why we waited so long to start the action and get the switch. I'm ok with the ball in LeBron's hands there, especially when he was playing/scoring well in the 4th. LeBron had 10 in the 4th, Kyrie had 2. If Kyrie had the hot hand in the 4th instead of LeBron, I'm sure he would have gotten the ball there.

The shot was perfectly on line, just a little long.

No one.

No one, obviously.

I think there are certainly situations where having LeBron take the shot makes sense, but not if it's a three. He should never be taking a three for the win, ever, under any circumstance. Unacceptable attempt by him to end regulation.

:chuckle: :chuckle:

Right, and Kyrie Irving wasn't on that team. This video is irrelevant to the argument I and others have been making for this team.

Kyrie was playing with about 50% health in this game. I suppose that qualifies as a circumstance, though.

Anyways, I could pull up a lot more that he's missed. A three point shot from LeBron when the differential is within 2 is a stupid shot attempt.
