Honest question, if the Cavs had a team like this Warriors team where a massive talent just landed on your squad and now you're way better than the rest of the league... Would you be enjoying this? I think it'd be mix of a feeling that it's all fake + boredom + fear of a devastating injury. Maybe I'm old and I've been watching sports too long...

Just accept that we really are not contenders and this doesn't even hurt. Like I said. We could play this team 10 times in a row and lose all 10 games. We can NOT beat this team no matter what moves we make and how we play. There is no trade that we can do that will favor us over them. There is just no scenario in which this Cavaliers team has a shot to win the NBA Championship and that is why LeBron James is going to leave. I know this is going to instantly get a "disagree" feedback and I understand, you're upset, frustrated and want to imagine in your mind that the refs and our lack of shooting caused us to lose but it's just not true. The Warriors gave a C+ effort and blew us away in the second half. Just enjoy LeBron for the rest of the season and while it lasts because come next season we'll be back to cellar dwelling for the next 5+ years until we can somehow assemble a team that can compete once this Warriors DYNASTY is over. They will reign as champions of the NBA for at least the next 5 to 6 years.

A real coach, a real rim-protector, and a functional 2 would make us competitive, at least. But that's a lot to integrate in half a season. And LeBron won't accept a real coach. Ever.

I wouldn't feel guilty at all.

We have a long, long, long way to go to become as "spoiled" as the Bay, Boston, etc.

Watching an anti-climactic stacked team win year after year would merely make up for what we have to put up from the Browns, and the Cavs' and Indians' past lean years.

I think I would enjoy it immensely. You think Patriots' fans ever get board?

Totally agree.

Cavs will win the East. Then lose to GSW.

No use flipping out about this game. We've all known how each year ends, ever since Durant signed with GSW.
The Cavs won't win the East if LeBron doesn't want to. They'll get swept in the finals and I always remember when LeBron said maybe it's better to lose early. Now if the Celtics reach the ECF no way LeBron let's Kyrie past him

They looked tired as fuck to me. That's why they lost. They were fine until that last 6.
If you watch back LeBron was tired coming out of the half. His hands were on his hips by the 9 minute mark in the 3rd. Right then and there I called game.

The problem is Durant.

Had the recruiting by Lacob, Green and others not happened? The NBA gets to have an entertaining back and forth between them, their opponents in the west and us.

When they got Durant? There was nothing any team could have done.

It's bullshit. Cleveland fans know it's bullshit. NBA fans know it's bullshit and I would be even Warrior fans themselves (deep down) know it's bullshit

But there's not a lot we can do. I mean, for example, would DeAndre Jordan really help that much in that regard?

....though we might be able to get something from the rockets or clippers now....

Getting back to the actual game, I just don't understand how this team continues to go through offensive lulls with how offensively talented they are. It really is no excuse to shoot something like 50% the first 3 quarters and then damn near 25% the rest of the way. It isn't just this game, its a pattern.

This team since the return of LBJ has always had these lulls, the difference was in seasons past they made up for it defensively. Now when shots aren't going in, they don't try on defense. I wouldn't say, with this game in mind, the opponent did anything spectacular defensively, if Cleveland played up to par defense it would have somewhat, not completely, made up for them being spastic on the offensive end.

I am still going to watch the finals and believe this team has a shot but for the time being, I need a complete 48 minute game and its scary that I don't know if this team can do that. Hell, they might lose to the Magic on Thursday.

Fizdale is free (cost: fire Lue, but someone Lebron would accept more than anyone else), Jordan is a rim protector (cost: BKN pick + TT), Bazemore is a "functional" 2 who can shoot the 3 and defend. (cost: our 1st rounder + scraps)
( e.g. http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=y8zx2r88)

The real question is, do our FO have balls to make all this happen? Probably not. Let's hold on to that goddamn pick and wait until it becomes a 7th or 6th pick, lose Lebron and stay in no man's land with these horrible contracts.
